SWAT 4 is $6 on Direct2Drive right now. RTTP or be LTTP now.

One of those games that probably won't ever come to Steam because of Sierra and Valve falling out.
What's the story behind this? And why would that even matter now; Sierra doesn't exist anymore and their IPs got gobbled up by Activision, which is on the store.

i really wish we got a swat 5....

Meh, on one of the Irrational Behavior podcasts they talk about how Sierra approached them to do Swat 5 but they demurred because they didn't really know where else to go with the concept and they didn't want to keep doing the same thing. It's hard to imagine how they could have improved on 4.

Yet they're doing Bioshock Infinite? That's asinine. :lol

One thing they could have done is make the AI better. It's basically impossible to get a 100% without gimping yourself and going non-lethal. In real life, criminals shit their pants when they see a bunch of guys point assault rifles at them... not in SWAT4 though.

Not all IPs were grabbed by Acti, they left some to die/be picked up by others. F.E.A.R. which was a Sierra/Vivendi property, is on the Steam store with Warner Bros. as the Publisher meaning that they grabbed those rights up.

Just finished the training. I had no idea that Irrational made this.

And OMFG at all of the tactics/options. PIP cameras, a separate sniper squad, fully controllable door cams, etc. They just don't make games like this anymore :(

Do we know why this isn't on Steam yet? What could possess them to keep it D2D exclusive and sell less copies? Who owns it?

Probably a combination of weird publisher relationships and the license being idle. Notice how the Police Quest collection is on D2D but not Steam.

I am planning on purchasing this game as well. Are there any recommended mods for this game, & is it possible for it to do wide screen?

This thread will be destroyed by Steam fangirls, calling it now. :(
I'm Steam fan and I'll say this . . . I wish they had this game!

SWAT 4 is a great piece of Irrational Games work. Well worth getting. I wish they would do a sequel but I guess they are having fun with their own IP.

Easy! update graphics and add the ability to aim down the sights.

I love this game. It's pretty awesome. It's really cool because I love how the purpose of the game is to have the least casualties possible and to save lives, unlike the usual FPSs where you kill everything.

This thread is making me want to install it again and play it. I haven't really tried the expansion so maybe I should give it a go!

This is the only relevant thread that's not from like 3 years ago and I didn't want to make a new thread just for this so sorry if this offends you :P It's 5 dollars for the GOLD Edition on D2D. Might want to jump on it before it goes away within hours. I just did.

Haha, I totally didn't see it was a thread bump and couldn't figure out why people had all the prices wrong.
