I didn't know CGI was Jack Black's nickname.
I thought Jack Black was okay. He did reek like he was from the future and everyone was in the movie's proper time setting though. :lol

also, I really liked it in the theaters but I struggle watching it at home, tying it into my earlier posts.

I want my dollar back. I rented "Watchmen" and that has to be the longest movie I have ever watched. I kept falling asleep, and kept waking up to randomness...MARS!...Antarctica!...random-flat-chested-sex scenes!!!

What the FUCK?!

Boo.

Anyways, read the graphic novel first, movie makes much more sense (except for the end). Watchmen is definitely a movie you need to watch while awake/not drunk and you need to watch it a few times.

I've not read Watchmen but Alan Moore sounds like an elitist snob in everything I've read. Oh, yes. Hes maintaining his integrity as an artist. blah blah. Loved the movie and looking forward to enjoying it in another medium (comic).

Elitist snob? I don't agree. He may not appreciate his name being on the films and request they not be but he gaves every cent he'd make off this stuff to co-creators. There was a great little anecdote in the Miracleman thread about how he was eager to give up his share of whatever was in question to assist an old friend with medical expenses.

Watchmen was great. Go to bed, boy

Is it odd that I prefer a long movie? Hell, I wanted Harry Potter to be 5 hours to get everything in the book mentioned, Watchmen could have been another hour for all I care, I guess I like getting my money's worth and love long movies. :D

I knew from reading the title that this would be about the Watchmen movie! read the graphic novel instead, I guarantee you'll like it

The "flat chested" comment is thinly veiled attention whoring.

Nobody cares, Luna. Go away, plz.
Indeed.

Ok, go, Luna, tell us about the incredible bbw scene you are from again, its so intertainZZzzzz..

So you fall asleep and then complain about "random" shit happening in the movie? Stay awake you stupid shit and you might actually know what was going on :lol.

The thread title should be in reference to King Kong moreso than Watchmen.

I don't blame you for being confused. Sleeping through any movie will cause random scenes to pop up with no context whatsoever. Maybe try to stay awake the next time and watch it completely. :lol

Watchmen is a pretty awesome movie and I was never hyped for it nor did I ever read a comic.

Watchmen is awesome, don't fall asleep and try to understand a movie, you will fail.

Also that girl isn't flat chested, did nobody here watch that movie with Ben Stiller and that girl from Watchmen?

COCK ME EDDIE COCK ME!

Watchmen is a great movie. It makes me happy that so many of gaf loved it.

You know, not once have I seen an anne of green gables appreciation thread. Isn't that alittle bit weird?

It rarely even makes it on peoples list of long movies that are awesome.

Thanks for sharing.

It also means you haven't watched Godfather 2, Patton, Gone with the Wind, Spartacus, Lawrence of Arabia, Dr Zhivago, Sound of Music, Barry Lyndon, Deer Hunter, Ghandi, The Right Stuff or Apocalypse Now. So you fail at life.
First of all, regardless of you intentions, mentioning these movies in the same sentence as Watchmen is blasphemous (maybe outside of Gandhi, a totally average film) I think you're about to get smitten by the ghost of Gene Siskel.
But more importantly, you misrepresent his point, he didn't say that Watchmen sucked because it's long.
It sucked because it's giant heap of cinematic manure, not suitable for human consumption, the fact that it has a three hours running time just make the suffering longer.

Speaking Dr. Manhatten's willy: You can't even see it that well! I went into Watchmen with "Blue Dick: The porno now rated R!" in mind, but came away disappointed because of that! (Along with the plot being hard to follow/understand and it was just... boring. Sex scene... fight scene... sex scene... oh hey, Dr. Manhatten has a change of heart so suddenly that it doesn't feel genuine... antartica.. some more stuff happening... and it's... over. That's it? My three hours for this?

Gone with the Wind sucks.

The only thing to keep me partially awake for Watchmen was that woman's ass. And all I can basically remember well is the rape scene for some reason.

You know, on a scale where Watchmen is literally "shit", what then, would you rate Transformers 2?

One of the failings of Watchmen I thought was that it was, ironically, too faithful to the GN. I mean it's almost scene for scene the exact same thing as novel save for some slight changes and the removal of the Black Freighter scenes. Plus the terrible acting and the lack of the feeling of nostalgia the graphic novel had didn't help matters.

It was a decent flick but nowhere near as great as it could of been IMHO.
