Switch-Gaf, did the Arms Nintendo Direct change your mind on the game?

Will probably buy it only to have it collect dust on the shelf until I have friends and family over to play with, just like Mario Kart.

I love the art and presentation but I'm not sold on the core gameplay at all.

I'm not a big fighting game fan though

Knowing it has future DLC support is tempting but the majority of my game time these days in on the train, where motion control is frowned upon.

Also at home couldn't play until my kids are asleep as the 4yo is super impressionable so a game about the joys of punching.... not a great idea.

Kinda?

I'm not big on fighting games but the minigames look fun. I want a bowling minigame where you have to punch a bowling ball.

I'll give the demo a shot though.

I'm not fan of fighting games, but this game got my attention. It looks pretty fun.

And looks like that we can workout our arms while we play it, haha.

Not quite there, but I'll be in for the Test Punch for sure. I was hoping they would do something like a demo so that way I could experience it for myself, because I think this is the kind of game that really needs something like that.

No, before the Direct I wanted to try the game before purchasing. After the Direct I still want to try it before purchasing.

Thankfully there will be a test fire so I can try it. All the game modes look good but depend on whether I enjoy the core gameplay.

Nintendo has been handling thier new ips really well lately. It gives me hope that they will take way more chances now because of the positive feedback. All that's left now is for Arms to sell well.

Thr last one did that for me, this one cemented that feeling even more. Still not 100% sure, but will attend the testpunch to find out.

I didn't take it seriously but now I'm legit interested

I stopped thinking about it as being a more robust Wii Boxing and more like a game ala Virtual On

No.

Its still a fighting game at the end of the day. Not a genre that holds my attention unless its Smash.

Although, ARMS looks great and packed with content

I'm still not 100% sold on it until I try it, but everything I'm seeing could make me bite day one, especially after today's Direct. Fighting games haven't really been my thing since the Saturn generation, but something about this is appealing to me.

Yes it did for me. I wasn't particularly sold on it before this direct but now I'm in Day One!!

On the eShop page for ARMS it says that you can use the Pro Controller. How would you play using this because this would be my most preferred method if it uses traditional fighting game style inputs.

I'm too much of a Nintendo fanboy not to try it out, and I already thought the game looked great.

Basketball mode looks pretty funny.

The more I see of ARMS the more I like it. All the different modes and characters that were shown today probably sold me the game. Great music, great characters, great fun. Sign me up.

Nope, not interested in motion controls beyond gyro and I'm a really casual fighting game player anyways. That basketball mode looked really cool though, I'd like to at least try the game out.

Yep... Thought it looked dull up to this point.
Taken aback by the effort they've put in. Freaking Nintendo are finding their swag again with this new generation of Devs

Not at 80$...

Was hoping for some good single player content, "grand prix" feel like a lazy attempt to deliver content for this game imo.

I mean, it's just the classic ladder event like in Smash and pretty much every fighter game? I mean, it's a fighting game. It's bread and butter is... fighting... multiplayer. Splatoon has a good single player but that's easier to do with a shooter versus a game all about kicking one or two other people's butt over and over.

Not really. I had a pretty positive opinion of it from the start, and that hasn't changed. It's nice to see the different modes and all though, and I applaud Nintendo for putting the demo out there so you can try before you buy.

It really does seem similair to Splatoon in certain ways though. Its fresh presentation, interesting concept, fun characters, a bit of a lack of content (10 fighters is really barebones IMO), and free DLC to add to the game. If it end up being anything like Splatoon though, we've got a winner here.

It was a great Direct that showed fans of this type of game why they should get it, but fighters rarely interest me. So no, this presentation didn't really sway me. Might try out the demo though.

Have to say that Nintendo went all out with this game. Free dlc, demo days, getting the full treatment.

No, not at all. It was exactly what we've already seen but with bonus modes that typically hold little attention in fighting games. The gameplay still looks too quirky and loose to me. As for content it was story mode or bust for me.

So no, not at all.

sorta gotta try out the demo first.

SOme of the new characters look cool like the cop and dog and the celebrity girl, so that's cool

Still on the fence. Was hoping for an actual SP mode like Splatoon has rather than just an arcade mode. Still interested though, so it's all up the to beta now.

I'm not a big online guy so I'm not sure if there is enough single player stuff there to justify it at $60. I think it is cool but I'm not sure how much I'd play it online to justify the purchase.
