I really cant think of anyone who can be cast as John Rambo from First Blood. Ryan Gosling has too much swagger and a cool smooth operator style.

I would probably go with Christian Bale or Channing Tatum. There needs to be a little psychosis going on with crazy dedication to the mission. Just tells you how really Sly nailed Rambo in First Blood.

Tatum is one of those actors I'll never get why he got famous. I just see his dumb face trying to act, every role he is in. Jump Street, Foxcatcher, that Fighter movie or whatever it was. It's just Channing Tatum trying to be an actor instead of actual acting. Bale is amazing tho. Would like to see that, or Tom Hardy.

As others already said: I could see Gosling doing the silent, broken character again (I imagine he is sick of it). Just buff him up, grow a beard and change his hairstyle and you're good to go. And I found this:

Whut, I literally said in the OP that it won't happen (soon anyway) but it would be fun to talk about it. But it's just a matter time tbh, they will remake/do sequels of those movies. Whether Stallone is around when they do it, who knows. There will be a Rambo movie without Stallone at one point.
