Syndicate - new trailer(s)

Still think this looks really cool. Looking forward to it. I want to hear more about the 4-player co-op mode, even though I'll probably never play it (graduated to PC and all my friends are on console.)

The stealth in DX was really well made, I don't understand what you're talking about. Multiple paths in ever level, disabling cameras, stealth takedowns and whatnot. I played it like a stealth game and had an awesome time.

I really tried to like it. It was just so repetitive. I decided 1/4 of the way in that I will just go in guns blazing. The stealth was very pointless to me. Eh, different people. Maybe it was just not for me.

Looks pretty, but lifeless. Basically E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy with a big boy budget.

Also I realize this is serious nitpicking and I'm probably the only one to notice it anyway, but the character was distractingly jittery while walking with the pistol in his hands, heh.

1:20, that HUD. If it werent enough that the bullet indicator in next to the gun, you got the discarded weapons showing pop-up info when you're next to then.

Honestly, that kind of bothered me too haha.

And here's the gameplay vid.

Looks great.

Omg omg omg omg omg

Ok I never payed attention to this game, and just recently saw it's name here and there on gaf. I just watched that gameplay vid up until the suicide hack demonstration. During that even I kept saying omg. This seems pretty ... awesome.

I watched videos of Deus Ex Human Revolution and couldn't get interested in it (maybe because of the slow movement, the black and gold everywhere, and the highlight yellow on everything. This seems much more colorful and interesting.

I'm now interested in this game. Hope it's good.

Mh, 4 player co-op that is supposed to mimic the original game.
That may have potential, if it is not your generic 4 vs 4 deathmatch.
Maybe some interesting mix of dynamic objectives and horde mode.

There is still time to dream, ...until the next announcement comes.

some of you people can only see two colours: Grey and brown.
Well, to be fair, that is an actual medical condition.

I dunno. None of this particularly reminds me of Syndicate at all. The game could be called "Milo's Brain Adventure" and nothing would need to be changed. Nothing about this screams Syndicate.

Based on those videos alone I think the plot twist is already pretty damn obvious...

And the obvious plot twist is going to be dumb, because that's not what Syndicate was ever about.

I never actually played the first one. But this looks like a nice game to me.
Great atmosphere. I wonder what the other areas will look like.

This doesn't look like the same Syndicate it used to be (I have never played the original). In a nutshell it looks like a shooter with a really shallow hacking system as well as some RPG elements.

Looks alright, but I'd like to see more. Loving the cyberpunk atmosphere though.

Think I might try the first game out.

It really is Missed Opportunity: The Videogame, regardless of whether or not it's faithful to the name.

Still, day 14 or whenever the customary EA massive price drop is.

Looks more alright than i expected but not seeing anything special. The breach powers are cool in concept but pretty boring gameplay wise. "Press X to kill this guy" "Press X to Charm this guy" "Press X to Stun this guy" with, of course, cool downs. Call of duty + mass effect.

One more "Same Old Shooter But With ____!" for the pile. Kind of looks like what i was afraid deus ex hr would be

Kinda...

The first game was all about various missions without a "plot" going on. All about abduction, assassination, stealing and generally blowing stuff up.
The second game "Syndicate Wars" (which strangely seems to be neglected entirely in the "classic" video on the site) actually had some story about corporations against cultists and the battle for mind control of the people.
Nothing spectacular, but I found it really enjoyable at the time. Wars also introduced the nuclear grenade and satellite rain weapons which were simply mind-blowing back then when they grounded an entire skyscraper.

Sadly, the second game aged a little bit less good as the first one, which may be attributed to the grafics. The sprite art of classic Syndicate is much more appealing to me than the polygons of "wars" today.

Looks pretty cool to be honest...

Graphics and lighting are nice and the animation touches are very well done. The way he opened that air vent or whatever, was pretty neat.

360 version looks goods.

Those screens are confirmed to be from the 360 version? I would like that!!! The game looks amazing. I thought everything released so far was from the PC version seeing how good it looks.

Hopefully the gameplay's good too!

-I really don't like the notion of Syndicate agents being other than mindless drones :(

This bugged me at first, but then I thought of a way it could be cool. Instead of having every agent be a hulking robotic killing machine with all their viscera replaced, some people could just be random chipped people who get hijacked and now think of walking into a building and murdering people like they're going to a movie or the mall. It's like normal life for them.

Of course, that's not where they're going with this. They better at least have some huge trench coat agents somewhere in the game.

I guess in a way it makes sense that they would have some James Bond style operatives to do more precise jobs than their full on Terminator teams.

So I can't view the video right now, but is there any indication that Syndicate will follow in the footsteps of Riddick/The Darkness with hub areas and non-combat sections? Or is it a straight-up shooter through and through?

I actually like it! Gonna be my February purchase, hopefully with Twisted Metal.

Also, is it just me or people sometimes are just too harsh on reboots/sequels of old franchises?

This could be a worthy sequel of the game, I think we should let Starbreeze handle it, if it turns out wrong, we can do all the shitstorms we want.

nothing yet. but this is still only 'one of the first missions', the same one everyone's (gamerblogosphere) seen so far

There was a developer interview from Vegas where that exact question was posed (regarding hubs and noncombat sections) that seemed to suggest that it would not be the case w/Syndicate.
