Take-Two: We'll release GTA V on other platforms "if that's where the consumer is"

Pretty obvious that is where the consumers are, because the ones with PS360s have all bought GTAV already

Why not on the Sony or MS conference? Would be a neat addition to the E3 lineup.
I just doubt that it'll be announced at E3. It'll probably be announced soon and I could really see it dropping in May. Fall is too crowded for a port of a year-old game(year old if it indeed comes in the fall) for next-gen.

Yeah, but they haven't bought the DLC that's coming up. I'd imagine that's what Rockstar is waiting on. Same thing is going on with TLoU and its inevitable GotY edition.

So I guess a PS4 and X1 port is pretty certain now.

yep. well it's obvious that there are future GTA V skus underway and I'd say it's a little more likely that these skus will be on new gen rather than the PC given his "where the consumer is" comment. And that's of course because of the rapid adoption of the two new consoles.

Red Dead would've sold another million on PC. It is a crime the game of the generation never made it there.

Refuse to buy on console because of framerate and resolution. If they release on PC I will buy day 1. If not oh well there are a million other pc games to play.

The most exciting prospect of a PS4/Xbone port is that GTA:Online won't be fucked up. Everyone starts from scratch, with no cheats (hopefully) and a smooth experience (again, hopefully).

I don't know, the most exciting thing would be that the game will look much, much nicer and run much smoother. Don't get me wrong, I was blown away by the fact that the game essentially ran on now ancient x360 hardware, but there were times I wondered how it could look better. Better lighting, textures, frame rate, less jaggies etc. Hopefully if they do double dip, they include whatever DLC they're working on for single player as well, as an incentive. I must've put 25-30+ hours with each character alone though, don't know how much I'd want to do the same all over again though.

That's great, sure. But the single player campaign was not horribly broken from the beginning like GTA:O was. GTA:O was a total abortion of a multiplayer mode. Rockstar has a chance to redeem themselves when it releases on next gen.

PS4 GTAV + Red Dead + Max Payne 3 combo pack extravaganza please

Would be like Orange Box but better.

Announce the damn PS4 version already dammit! I wants it, everyone wants it. Just do it. You clearly like money, I want to give you some!!!!

I've said it before, but just in case they're looking at this thread... I skipped the 360 version because I was out of hdd space, but have plenty of room on my ps4. +1 customer.

Next gen install base will be >25 million by the end of the year. That's where the consumer is, eager to buy more games in these times of droughts.

This drawn out period of silence / teases from Rockstar / Take-Two is like a game unto itself. Either announce what the fuck you're working on or just announce you're not working on it. I don't get the strategy here.

PR speak translation: "Yeah, ports are coming, we're just not going to say anything until we officially announce them"

They have never released GTA on PC day one. I suspect they delay it because of piracy concerns.

Every PC port from GTA3 onwards has been released 7-8 months after the initial home console release.

Was there ever any doubt that it would come to PC? He basically said "I can't announce anything myself for marketing reasons" which is a long ways from "we haven't decided" or "no".

Remain calm, there are plenty of other games to play.

I'll definitely double dip. I didn't give the game its due when it came out because of next gen and I feel it could really benefit from the better hardware.

Yea ok so where is Red Dead for PC?

The code is too convoluted to attempt a port apparently.
