Target vows to match Amazon’s prices

What? Those "pointless" jobs and others like that are an absolute necessity for a healthy economy and populace. Not everyone can/will be an engineer or business manager.

What do you do for a living?
They're a necessity right now but that needs to change. Society needs to learn how to accommodate a post brick and mortar world. If that means we have to cut working hours and increase salaries accordingly to create more jobs then so be it.

Oh jeez. Try to not read what I wrote as 'I hate minimum wage scum'.

That's exactly what you're saying though.

Why does it need to? Why the fuck do you want to live in a shit world where you can't go out and buy things and have them immediately? I hope YOUR hours get cut for saying things like this and you find yourself unable to pay bills.

Why does it need to change? You still haven't proven anything of why they need to be eradicated immediately. You make it sound like someone is magically propping them up when they shouldn't be and that's why they're still around. I think you have a grasp on this subject at all.

The last time I tried to price match something at Target, I had to spend twenty minutes explaining what math was and how it worked and that $120 - $50 = $70. I'm not exaggerating either.

Tried price matching at target with amazon a few days agos.
Took about 30 mins because none of the employees had a clue if they could price match amazon.
Friend had to pull out his phone to show them their own policy.

Coolio, I'm not sure you really have thought this through very much at all. If you had, you wouldn't be saying a good bit of what you are.

There is no such thing as a post brick and mortar world, b&m is never going away. And removing shitty low wage jobs from b&m just to replace them with shitty low wage warehouse jobs for giant online giants? lol

Awesome! Add on the fact that if you have a Red Card, you get another 5% off your purchase, Target has just become cheaper than Amazon for every item that they have in stock, plus a better and easier return policy within 120 days of purchase.

I don't think Target realizes that part of the draw to Amazon is the convenience of never leaving the house... Or is this for online Target? I read that as Target simply will pricematch online in store...

I guess if I really want something that day, it will be nice... but I think im willing to sacrifice a day and no tax on a 1 dollar next day shipping...

For movies, games, books, ya, I probably don't mind shopping online without seeing it in person, but for a lot of other items, I do want to see it in person, or sometimes I don't even know exactly what I want until I get an idea from window shopping. For things like clothes, I'd love to see that in person and even try them on than dealing with how Amazon works. Plus, the simple fact is, there's a reason for me to be at Target at least once every two weeks if not at least once a week for various daily household items or needs so I'm there already. I fear the day where the only way you buy something is online and I buy a lot of stuff online.

I like Target. There Merona clothes are actually really good for the price and i dont feel like a complete bum walking in there (unlike walmart)

they can't take headshots like old coolio here can apparently?

I bet he passes by a mcdonalds or wal-mart and groans at people 'working'. How irritating it must be!

Well the people in the drive through need to learn how to order their cheeseburgers online.

Post brick and mortar fast food. Think about it.

Surely Coolio here has the master plan and job alternatives all laid out.

Go ahead Coolio, let it rip.

sometimes the folks who grew up in the nice neighborhoods dont get it. we can only hope their college education does include social studies and multiculturalism.

Your burger and fries will be shipped in 10-12 days. But if you supersize now it'll only be 2-3 days with amazon prime.

Shit, I'd pay a premium to get this hand delivered same day and still hot.

Yeah, getting out of my house and driving is the dumb option! So obsolete.

hold on a sec zethren? Cars? I think you're living in the past. Cars are passe, and online shopping/traveling is the future.

So I need a suit for tonight and there is only online shopping, I'm shit out of luck. Damn my laptop power adapter died, well the good news is that I have 2 day shipping! What is your solution? Your opinion is completely ridiculous and I have to think is just trolling.

I want brick and mortar to die personally. I might even pay a premium to buy online if I need to.

That's not happening anytime soon

Maybe you've been scorned or touched inappropriately by Walmart, but B&M still have a place

Not everything can be shipped at a fast rate

Also pay extra online just to spite B&M... Da Fuck?

Options and choices help the consumer
I rather get something from B&M for $5 more than twiddle my thumbs for 2-3 days to get in the mail from online, and if you do 1 day shipping, sometimes the B&M WINS price wise, shocking I know

If the customers are already in the store that shouldn't be an issue.

Unless of course they completely forgot to price match before going to the store because they didn't think about it. "gotta pick up a few things from Target... DON'T FORGET TO CHECK AMAZON FIRST!" Not something I would do on a regular basis...

Hold on there, dude.

Traveling?

You're living in the past. All the experiences you need being beamed directly into your brain from satellites is the future.

This might ultimately spur WalMart to match its own online prices

How Wal-mart doesn't already do this is mind boggling. You can buy online and have it shipped to a store to pick up (in some cases you can pick up same day), but you can't just walk into a store and get the price right there.

I'm fine with this. So long as people aren't working, ugh that really grinds my gears to know people are workin!

I actually do wish this part was real...

World couldn't handle it though.

i don't think there's as much demand for pool boys, shoe-shiners, and valet than you think. in other words we're fucked as a human race eventually.

Because they want them as separate entities. Most sales for them aren't the same online as in store and the store pick up is trash since (at least for mine) it takes almost a week for them to get the item to pick up. They're not even close to the same level as bestbuy or others are currently operating.

You realize where we live in the age of smartphones right? Not to mention that extra 5% off every Target item that makes it cheaper than Amazon.
