Team Ico Collection :::: Anyone got an update for us?

Nothing I've heard. I guess it depends on how the Gow collection did, and maybe even how the Sly collection will do.

Next upcoming Classics HD game like God of War Collection, HD-ed and all that. Features Sly 1, 2, and 3. One of the games supports Move.
 
Well i imagine they want to give the Sly Collection some space to sell, and not risk people thinking that they are doing too many, as well as achieve maximum synergy with the TLG release, which seems ways off. So maybe announcement early next year, release next summer for a fall TLG release.

It's still a rumor.

If it does happen, it will be close to the launch of The Last Guardian, and that's a ways off, so don't expect to hear about it (if it's true) for a few months at least... Maybe next E3 (with a long list of third-parties on board to do HD Collections too?)

Were there any 3rd parties interested in doing a Classics HD collection?
 
I imagine when The Last Guardian gets its release date/window we'll get an announcement of a special edition in the EU of all three games in a delicious combo. Some retailers seem to be confident its happening, so maybe it'll happen at Gamescom. It was shown at E3 last year, so hopefully they show it at the EU conference.
 
I've heard that it's definitely happening (and that software PS2 emulation got shelved in favor of putting out more HD classics, in fact), and that the tech isn't in the hands of third parties yet.

Kotaku had an article a while back with a list of a whole bunch of third party publishers who said they'd love to do it (because it's basically free money).

I think some have said so in interviews as a passing mention, but no, no overt mentioning of wanting to do Game X in HD on PS3 has been mentioned by any of them so far... With how well GoW:Collection did, I can't imagine that third-parties wouldn't want to do so, I'm moreso in the thinking that Sony doesn't want to muck this up (like they did with PSone Classics) by only putting out quality games as collections... God only knows how fast Koei would be to do a Dynasty Warriors Collection.

At least, that's what I hope is holding up other collections, not that devs aren't interested.
 
It isn't a collection, but EA are including the PS2 MoH port with the PS3 Medal of Honor CE. Third parties surely have the tech to do it by now.

Imo we'll see both TLG and the ICO/SotC collection at TGS.

Jak and Daxter
Final Fantasy (X, X-2 and XII)
Devil May Cry
Kingdom Hearts
etc.

That would be sweet...It's the only one of the "double-dip" collection that I'm interested in.

I wonder if we'll see the first 3rd parties collections announced at TGS. Japanese developers nowadays are more comfortable in remaking their old glories instead or creating new great games so these HD collections are a great opportunity for them too :lol :lol :lol J/K (but not so much).
Btw games like FFX/ FFXII, Zoe2, MGS2/3, Silent Hill 2/3, Devil May Cry, the Onimusha series, really deserve a HD upgrade.
These collections could be released on the PSN too.
 
These threads tend to turn into List Your Request pretty quickly, which doesn't make for great reading, but I DO hope that Sony and third parties are aware that there's a demand out there (and that they'd basically be making free money).

We also know that Ueda was going to speak to Sony about HD releases of ICO and SoTC after TGS.

It's only animated as of yesterday.



Anyhow - I think the biggest opportunity here is for Square-Enix, honestly, if they would actually take the opportunity to release the International/Final Mix versions of their PS2 FF/KH games for the first time in North America.

I would definatly buy a lot of those.

An MGS collection (Subsistence, Substance and maybe MGS1/Twin Snakes as well) would sell like hot cakes.
