Tech Question: Video Files not running properly :(

Would anyone know (or point me out to a proper forum for this question) why all my video files seem to be running almost negative-like in color, the colors seems kinda switched off for some reason, for example people are blue... it's like the reds just aren't there.

What's throwing me off is that everything else, pictures, websites looks normal, colors are sharp et al... but I've tried viewing video files with a couple of applications: Windows Media Player, Real Player with the same effect. I've even tried running games and they seem to work ok... Maybe the video card is going? anyone has any suggestions? Thanks.

edit: I just tried running my webcam and the colors on it are fine too, wft!

use the right codecs man. .. Get a program called GSpot. It checks the video files for their codecs, and see if you have them installed. Very helpful
