Teen Titans Go! Has Become Really Good Lately

Watched a few episodes with my son and couldn't help but love it, especially as a fan of DC. The Wonder Twins episode was amazing.

The art style is what pissed me off at the start

Then they released that intro and I was like "kill me now"
I was into it after 1 episode though.

I hate this trend. I think it's because 1.) It's popular now. 2.) Reduced production costs.

I hate hate hate everything about it.

I love this show, and my 4 year old loves it. I'm always impressed by the numerous DC easter eggs thrown into the show - like the "vase" and the Hush bandages in the screenshot above, for an example. We love Meatball Party, Burger vs. Burrito, Girl's Night Out, Wonder Twins, Colors of Raven. Really, I think most of the episodes are solid. There's the occasional stinker, but those are rare.

I happened to catch the "missing" episode. I was "did they just name drop scrooge mcduck"??? then followed by a teen titan version ducktales song!

The same episode had a "neverending story" falcor moment.

And then you realize that ENTIRE episode was written to get to that last scene...

That one is my favorite. That and "Waffles." Because seriously, imagine being the musician who gets the assignment "Write an INCREDIBLY catchy song that only uses the word ' waffles' GO!"

(Am humming it right now.)

I watch this show with my niece, and find it great. The dream episode was great, Robins dream had the art style of the old teen titans.

I watched this for a while and lost interest, may watch it again. Last I watched, it was an episode of Robin learning to drive and the highlight was Batman laughing with Gordon over a cup of coffee. Tell me, is there more DC characters that pop up like that?

Mas + Menos (1 episode)
Batgirl (2 short appearances)
Nightwing (1 episode)
Batman (usually appears for a short second joke numerous times)
Tera (2 episodes)
Brother Blood (1 episode)
H.I.V.E Five (Mammoth, Jinx, Gizmo, See-More, Billy Numerous) (numerous episodes)
Trigon (1 episode)
Red X (1 episode)
Speedy (1 episode)
Aqua Man (1 short appearance)
Aqua Lad (2 short appearances)
Wonder Twins (1 episode)

These are the ones that I've seen so far. There's a ton of the villains from the original Teen Titans that make appearances, but I didn't feel like listing them all. The ones that made short appearances only show up for a few seconds, maybe for a joke. The ones listed as episodes, had a whole episode about them/was there for most of the episode.

I know this is off topic but I am LTTP on Young Justice and it's damn good. I can't believe they cancelled Young Justice for this.
Young Justice, Green Lantern*, and Beware the Batman got cancelled because they weren't fun shows.

Teen Titans Go! is a fun show, and I'm sure a "serious" cartoon with more levity than the above mentioned would perform a bit better.

Nick TMNT is a good example. Even the DC Nation shorts are more fun.

*I liked Green Lantern but it didn't feel like it could hook a big audience.

This is objectively incorrect.

Those shows were cancelled because they are comparatively more expensive. That was further exacerbated by their lack of toy sales. That is all.

The ratings themselves were--when using a scale that does not include Ben10--good.

That's my reasoning anyways. To be fair I do remember that CN kept screwing with the shows' scheduling.

I don't want to sound mean but Beware the Batman deserved to be cancelled.

You not watching this show isn't going to make Young Justice S3, Green Lantern S2, Teen Titans Classic S6, more Samurai Jack, more Symbiotic Titan, more Gargoyles, more "insert your favorite show that is no longer on the air here" magically show up on the air you konw :P

Young Justice? Samurai Jack? Symbiotic Titan?

Stop stabbing my heart :(

Not if you actually watched a few episodes it didn't.
Half a season in and it was already better than The Batman.

What? No it was not.

I watched most of the season and at its best it was about as good as The Batman--which you correctly imply to have been sub-par--but much, much uglier.

The
Ra's arc
is better than anything I remember from The Batman.
Katana is also better than The Batman's Robin at least.
Villains suck though.

That's actually one of the reasons I'm not too fond of that new TV show. There a mix of new (Dr. Pig and Mr. Toad) and more obscure villains (Magpie, Anarchy) in this show, but none of them feel particularly memorable.

Started watching this from the start and yeah, it's pretty cute and fun. The first episode was cringe-worthy, but later ones have been inoffensively amusing.

Currently on the Speedy episode (No. 3). Getting some chuckles out of me seeing Teen Titans' Robin with an actually notable personality in this series.

I actually love it honestly. It seems a very hit and miss but when it's hit it is really funny. I like the non serious totally silly humor. I mean it was obvious to me from the start it was not meant to be serious but just complete off the wall humor.

And...well, they made a Fallout reference (that always helps me get a favorable impression ;) ).

I knew Robin would go nuts one episode. Just not this nuts. Introducing, Robin-Fire

I've always wanted to say this. Do you even lift?

I just saw Robin's dream. That dialogue + that animation. So bitter sweet. So hilariously sad. I have mixed emotions.

Robin was awesome, though. So awesome.

Just watched Power Moves. Totally making a "favorite episodes" list after I'm caught up and this one will be on it.

I repeat: Robin is actually awesomely flawed in Teen Titans Go!

Alright, I've caught up (or have seen most of the episodes). Here's the favorites! (Episodic order):

The Date
Girl's Night Out (Probably my absolute favorite of them)
Laundry Day
Staff Meeting
Artful Dodgers
Burger vs. Burrito
The Left Leg
Colors of Raven
Power Moves
No Power
Nose Mouth
Legs
Opposites
Dreams

Honorable Mentions (Episodic order):

Tower Power
Matched
Sidekick
Breakfast Cheese
In and Out
Missing

Again, when I first heard about this show months ago, I thought I'd hate it for sure and steered clear. I'm very impressed that it ended up being amusing overall and, at times, simply fantastic for a comedy short. I look forward to there being more (hopefully.)

Bonus Round!

Characters (O.G. Titans show vs. Go! versions)

[Yes, the contexts are different, but the character roles and personalities are notably warped between the original and Go! Here's a truncated version showing my general appreciation for each in their respective series.]

Teen Titans Go! Robin > Original Robin
Teen Titans Go! Starfire > Original Starfire
Teen Titans Go! Raven > Original Raven
Original Cyborg > Teen Titans Go! Cyborg
Original Beastboy > Teen Titans Go! Beastboy

Man, I didn't know they were still making episodes of this! I've been out of the loop for months!

Catching up right now. Just saw the "Brain" one which was great.

there are some very funny jokes/references. I would take Young justice over it but there are moments like the episode where Robin has a dream and it is footage from that teen titans movie that made it very special.

I refuse to support this show on principle.
This. A few friends of mine like it and I saw some scenes and it's pretty fun, but I can't accept that CN killed Young Justice, Green Lantern TAS, the ending of the original Teen Titans and a few other, unrelated shows. They won't hurt me anymore.

This show is hilarious.. I crack up laughing everytime.

FYI All the voice actors are the same from the original Teen Titan show and Kevin Conroy did the voice of Batman when he made a cameo
