The fuck? They are doing yet ANOTHER failed attempt at Tekken Force? God damnit...

You must of missed the part about online co op and local. If you consider that fail, gtfo.

My Modded TE stick will serve me just fine for Tekken 6, at first i was like meh but now starting to feel the hype for the game now!

Okay gaf, I'm a total arcade stick noob. I don't know what to buy, I don't know whats good, etc, etc. I AM thinking about buying this for the 360 though, because A. It seems like a good deal (to me) B. I like Tekken C. Wireless sounds Cool...?

Question time though- Will this stick be okay for SFIV and Virtua Fighter? Also, do youguys think I could use this with Marvel Vs Capcom?

Basically, should this be a buy for me? Or is there a better arcade stick value for an arcade stick newbie (I want something functional that doesnt feel "cheap")

Thanks

These are most definitely not Sanwa parts. Most likely Hori rip-offs.

The face buttons look way flatter than the convex sanwa style. They've even ripped off Sanwa's Grey/Black button colour scheme.

The shaft of the stick is also much thicker than a Sanwa.

I could be wrong about all this, as I'm only judging these sticks from the pics provided.

The wireless feature is nice, but as mentioned before, is not a Tournament-level feature.

One more thing: does anyone actually need 8 face buttons? Everyone I know that play at tournaments and have sticks with 8 face buttons such as the TE or the HRAP hate the extra buttons.

My TE stick will be my main for this as it is with any fighter, but I wanted another stick for playing PS2 games and the TE doesn't do it for some asinine reason.
I just hope someone gets hold of one of these early and takes it apart so we can see if it is badly soldered like some recent sticks with buttons to the board and whatnot.

What did you mod on your TE? Doesn't that already come with all-Sanwa parts?

Yea, i just changed to a red sanwa bat top, art mod with plexi glass and swapped a few buttons out just to match them up with the art.

I wouldn't hold my breath for buttons that aren't connected to the PCB. I have this stick which I bought way back in 1996 -

I saw inside a hori fight stick EX and they're basically still selling the same thing... meaning that they are not very moddable.

They're good sticks but definitely not top-end.

Im new to the stick world myself, but i hear Hori sticks designed for specific games are always soldered hardcore.

Does Tekken even need a fight stick? I've never had any problem with using a traditional Dual Shock with it.

no games really need a stick- you can play very well with a joypad, and possibly just as well, but in order to replicate the arcade experience, you do really need a fight stick. I personally have hated sticks for a long time, but since SF4, I have grown to love them.

I believe it's fundamentally better, because with a joypad, you only have one thumb to press the buttons, whereas with a stick you can use all five fingers to press the buttons- I believe there are inherent physical advantages to being able to use all five fingers.

You're right there. No doubt about that. It's to be seen, but I really wouldn't recommend this stick as being a true hardcore stick, in terms of build, reliability and customisability.

yes, this stick will be perfectly suitable for your needs if you're a total stick noob, but if you get any way serious about using sticks, you're gonna want to look into getting a stick with genuine Sanwa parts or mod this one.

When I play Tekken I sit the controller on my leg with my right hand above the controller. I usually play with my thumb, index, and middle fingers. I don't know if anyone else plays it like that, but it works for me.

It's funny, I've never been able to play Tekken as well with a stick. I've played VF4 well with a stick, though. I guess it's because I spent so much time playing Tekken 3 with a controller (Pre-Dual Shock baby!), that I'm too accustomed to it.

yeah, that works too I guess. Nothing wrong with that. If it works for you, it just works.

I just know with me, I used pads from Tekken 1, all the way through to Tekken 5 on PS3 and thought it was the only way to go until last week I built my own stick with world-class parts and I'll never ever look back.

What drove me build a stick was not liking the Dual Shock D-Pad for SF4. I bought a Madcatz fightpad which turned out to be a terrible purchase, because the thing constantly drops signal and the dpad gets stuck in certain directions.

Tekken and SF are very different games though. I think with Tekken, it's more directional and a pad suits it fine, whereas SF needs more fluid circular motions a lot of the time, which suits a stick much more. I may be wrong about this though as my experience outside of Lei Wulong and Ryu/Ken/Sagat are limited :P

I wonder how hard it will be to swap out the stick with a Seimitsu LS-32. I am just not a fan of a JLF and its cheaper hori clones.

based on my experience- quite difficult. Would require extensive modding of the case and the stick itself to make it all fit inside the case. Again- very much TBD. Personally, I hate the idea of modding mass-produced sticks unless they were designed with the intention of being modded.

For example, a friend of mine has a Hori Fight Stick EX and those sticks have a reputation for buttons failing after a relativel short period of time. He modded it with Sanwa buttons, but can't get the bottom to shut completely or the buttons themselves to push all the way down for fear of the soldering coming apart. He is left with a flimsy stick that he makes the most of when playing but doesn't have very much confidence in.

I gave him a bunch of quick-disconnects as well, but they couldn't be used because there wasn't enough space inside the case.

After a lengthy SF3 session recently, some solders finally came loose and he was left with a useless stick. He did reopen the stick and removed a daughter board which game him more space and fixed the stick in the end, but what a pain!

It should be mentioned as well that my friend's brother has a Bachelors degree in electronic engineering and worked as an electrician for 6 years! not easy man!

will preorder tekken 6 for the content. I'll pass on the stick since I have a TE and full sanwa SE :lol

now here comes the trouble with selecting a main.. Kazuya, Miguel or Lars..

Kind of OT but.... been playing some T5DR online lately and fucking christ do I suck. Been playing for 12 years and I fucking SUCK. Love living near no one who plays.... =/

Thinking about preordering another set of bundles... just to sit on just in case a friend can't find one during launch lol.

I hope the PS3 version works with a PC (as I have a PS3). This one should be interesting. Either one or neither could end up working with a PC.

If it's bluetooth I hope it uses a HID interface and not the same gamepad protocol over bluetooth the dualshocks use. I know there's a way to get ps3 controllers working on the pc but you have to install all these different usb and blueooth drivers that often make your other bluetooth devices not work. If it's a dongle it most likely will work on PC.

Do you guys have any idea what that stick is? You know. Is it like a wireless version of the T5 stick?

*pushes Kadey*

Hi.

It's a completely new design. It's first party wireless (360; BT on PS3). I don't know about the components yet. But I'll find out soon hopefully. ;)

So native BT on PS3 and not dongled-up BT?
