Tekken 7 new playable character unveiled: Kazumi Mishima

Something like that. You get it when you lose enough of your health bar and go into rage mode.

Tiger doesn't give a shit and just clips through her.

So cool.
Wish the tiger had something on him unique like Kuma and the other animals. A top hat or a mustache would be awesome. This is Tekken so that is not weird at all.

thanks for clarification.

She should fight kiryu kazuma from Yakuza

Best character in Tekken since forever, holy shit.

This convinces me even more that Kazuma Kyriu should be a guest character in the series.

But he is!

Oh man, if Namco were smart enough to offer a Tiger Jackson custom skin for her pet Tiger (also giving Kazumi an alt disco costume), Tekken 7 would be the greatest fighting game in the history of human civilization.

Instead of rolling or four-paw running towards the opponent, disco Tiger could break dance and spin on his back towards him instead.

Just imagine that afro Tiger uppercut!

As a side note, I really hope he's in T7. His appearance in TTT2 reminded me how amazing he is.

As of this moment, we aren't even sure if ANY of the capoeira fighters will be in. I'm personally hoping Christie Monteiro will be in, but it won't be a big deal if none of them are in.

Tekken is full of cheating assholes!
Let's enter a martial arts tournament and fight with blades, chainsaws, being a robot, being a bear, being the devil and now fighting with a tiger. If bears can enter the tournament, wouldn't Kazumi and her Tiger fighting 2vs1?

Beyond what they are they use some sort of martial art. Besides, other than sims like UFC and fight night there are not many fighting games with only ''normal'' human type fighters that use real life martial arts exclusively.
Also the bear was taught martial arts by Heihachi.
Tekken is dumb

Yeah they totally didn't use the same sprites for the Versus games. Marvel Vs Capcom 2 was completely redone and not MUGEN tier at all.

Not talking about spinoffs and side series. MAIN NUMBERED GAMES.

MK1 -> MK2 -> MK3 -> MK4 -> etc.

Totally different games.

SF1 _> SF2 -> SF3 -> Alpha -> SF4 -> SF5

Totally different games. (we've barely seen anything from SF5, but the characters are already almost completely reanimated)

Fatal Fury 1 -> 2 -> 3

Totally different games.

KI1 -> KI2 > KI3

Totally different games.

You guys are so used to the Tekken model that you don't even realize what you SHOULD be getting.

No, that's what updates are for.

Sequels are actually supposed to be completely NEW GAMES (hence the full price tag) that reference the lore and general style of the previous game...but don't necessarily copy the previous game.

Once upon a time, sequels for many FG series' actually did that. No assets, sounds, or animations from previous games used to make new one. Crazy concept, I know.
Tekken 6 brought a complete overall of nearly all of the animations. Many characters were changed a lot. I see no reason why they should completely overhaul with each game. They change a lot between each game, but I'dnprefer they not have a Tekken 6 level of change with each new release.

Kazumi: What if we named our kid just like me, but with a different last sound?
Heihachi: That's going to make him real hard to throw off a cliff.
Kazumi: Look, we talked about this, you can't throw our son off a cliff.
Heihachi: I promise not to throw him off a cleft.
Kazumi: What did you say
Heihachi: Yeah, Kazuya's a good name, I like it, let's go with that.

I was wondering how she was related. She looked about 21 in the picture, but with the bun up, the smaller eyes, and the wider mouth - aka the usual anime tricks to make us think this is someone in their late 20s - 50s - that she had to be someone older. Maybe even Heihachi's wife. Who looks 20 years old by real standards.

Silly.

Edit: I would play her...

Her clothing looks ridiculous.

This game really needs dynamic cloth simulation. Heihachi doesn't look any better.

That said, looks like a fun addition. I love Tekken.

Super awesome design.

Nothing about this game grabs me. Just feeling been there, done that. Everything looks boring.

Don't forget SoulCalibur, Namco's own red-headed stepchild series.

That tiger "Blanka" animation looks really bad...but overall she looks pretty cool.

I wonder what the excuse will be this time for her apparent 20-year-old body

Edit: it's been explained

Been playing the game several times last week. Sorry, I'm not feeling it at all. This doesn't feel like a Tekken sequel, just an update from T6.

Eddy/Christie are definitely some of the most popular characters among casual players; I'm sure at least one of them will be playable.

In the developers mind though they've also been associated as a source of frustration for newer players. They might be of the mindset that if they remove the Capos people that think they are cheap will come back to the series.

Thank you for your contribution...

The game have visually come a long way since its Arcade debut, and keeps looking better for every update.

Hi,

I wasn't purely talking about the graphics, I was including animation and actual gameplay. Apologies if you're a fan but this particular game will not be for me.

I wonder why they are showing Kazumi now instead of another returning character like Jack and Yoshimitsu. Could that be a sign that this is the final roster?

I doubt it

how did you reach this conclusion?

The same way the people who said Tekken 6 was just Tekken 5.5 and the way people said Tekken Tag 2 was just Tekken 6 with Tag. You gotta know how to spot the Tekken trolls man and just ignore them. These were the same kind of people that for years said Tekken was nothing but a button masher and lost to Eddy and Hwoarang over and over again because they couldn't be bothered to take 10 minutes to figure out the match up on a basic level.

First character reveal that interest me. Though I pledged not to come back till they don't dial juggling back to Tekken 5 levels or below.

I doubt it

The game as it is now is a glitchy mess with too many recycled animations. Common sense would tell me that they're gonna do a Dark Resurrection/Bloodline Rebellion style re release addressing a lot of these things which will also come with its own handful of characters.

But then again I can't really tell if common sense applies to Japanese developers this gen outside of Kojima/Platinum.

You realize both Jack and Yoshi have been announced?

That's what I meant. Kazumi is the boss of this game, so you would think she would be kept for last. So are Yoshi and Jack the only returning characters?

Probably not, so it's weird to introduce playable Kazumi right now.
