Not to mention at some places you have to be a real slacker to get fired. I had an ex gf who was an assistant manager at one and she was irritated that the manager would not fire the lazy kids that would show up late or no call/no show. I think she's a manager ruling a Lil Caeser's with an iron fist now. I miss her and all the free pizza/wings/garlic sticks :'-(

It must be exciting going into an interview for a job it's practically impossible for you not to get.

I worked at Papa Johns in a pretty small town. We had mountains of resumes to sift through. We pretty much would pick out a few that looked good, brought them in, and just kind of picked the one we thought would fit in the most. Since about anyone can learn the job, it's more about fitting in.

Point being, there are so many people hunting for jobs that even something as small as Papa Johns was pretty competitive.

I'm surprised I'm not fired at my current job. I call out at least once a week, usually several hours after I'm supposed to be there. When I do show up, I'm hungover and reeking of alcohol and I haven't washed my work clothes in weeks. I mostly sit around and talk and constantly have to be reminded to work. I think the only reason I get away with it is because I'm merely one of several who does this. One day we realized that we were total scumbags, laughed, and nothing changed.

I went through 4 interviews to get hired at Best Buy.

A phone interview, a quick in person interview with a supervisor, a longer interview with a manager, and finally an interview with the GM where I was offered the job.
I was rejected by Best Buy. No joke. Everything was going good, got through two interviews but apparently my 'record' meant I wasn't the type of person they were looking for, even though at the time, my record just consisted of getting a ticket for pissing in a parking garage before a concert(it was a long wait til we could go in). Kris, if you're reading this, then screw you for not being a better lookout and ruining my potential career at Best Buy! Hell, might have even made it to Little Caesar's one day!

Best Buy was always one of those places I remember where everyone wanted to work because it was a decent job, they treated you pretty good, and they paid relatively well (compared to places like McDonalds)

Other places in the same line -

Cracker Barrel
Chick-fil-A

I worked at both of the latter two and had multiple interviews for those jobs as well.

I went to the interview.

I wanted to shake the lady's hand but she asked for my resume first and told me to take a seat.

Surprisingly, the questions she asked weren't BS. It was mostly asking what was my schedule like, any work experience and some work related questions (i.e can you handle money? How would you deal with an angry customer?).

I got to shake her hand at the end and she would call me before the upcoming Wednesday if I got it or not.

What position are you applying for?

a) The guy who spins the signs outside
b) delivery guy
c) pizza artist
d) management

Little Caesar's doesn't deliver, you ruse maker.

I got to shake her hand at the end and she would call me before the upcoming Wednesday if I got it or not.

If she doesn't call you, call back anyway on Wednesday and ask to speak to her just to inquire about your application.

All about shaking that hand, glad you fixed that by the end.

The same as any minimum wage job.

Will you show up on time and not drunk/high?

If you answer yes, you are ahead of the majority of applicants.

Just relax, the job does not have intense requirements to be employed, and you're very likely to be hired on the spot. And congrats on the job, until you leap frog into your successful career, whatever that may eventually be!

So it's Wednesday, and I call back the lady and she says she'll have to check her files. If I'm on it, she'll call back, if not, I didn't get it.

Though I'll be disappointed if I don't get it. The excuse I've always been told is employers don't want students. Now I'm available for full time and I still don't get in, wtf?

are you looking anywhere else or do you really just want to work at little caesars?

Don't get discouraged if you don't get it, these types of places get mountains of applicants and obviously they can only hire so many people.

The suspense is killing me.

fun fact. if you get a pepperoniz pizza by them and bring it home add some of your own toppings and then toss it back in the oven for another 15 minutes at 425 you get some wicked awesome pizza. and garlic

I do this with most pizzas I buy. Toppings are pricey.

Sounds good. Did you apply to other Little Caesar's in your general area as well?

Driving to work for 15-20 minutes isn't bad.

This was a new restaurant so that's why I applied.

I usually avoid applying to places that don't have "help wanted" ads. What I've learned is, Employers actually hire people from already existing restaurants when they need someone. They only hire outsiders during specific times in which case, my resume would just be sitting in some folder for months (though I did get lucky once and and received a call the next day but it was at the start of summer).

If I were to do this again, it would have to be February, then the Summer then maybe Winter.

Nope, you may have a better chance during those periods but you can honestly apply whenever. There's no completely reliable time table for when people quit or get fired, unless it's something super obvious like a movie theatre which won't even take applications during some months.

Eh, I did it too many times, I don't feed comfortable doing it again.

Not only is it a lot of work to apply to every restaurant that may or not be hiring, I have to deal with managers in person who reject resumes at first contact. I use the internet when I can to avoid this.

Damn you OP! I'm high as fuck and this thread has me craving some cheesy bread from Little Caesars now......but the nearest location is 25 miles away.

Your an asshole for that buddy!

I wish you luck, man. Get that job!

I also once thought you would just automatically get hired at places like Best Buy and what not. The one time I applied, I was not hired because of my background as a Scientific Assistant/Data Collector.
Even with my past work with consumer electronics and what not, I was denied because "I was over-qualified."
You can always be denied a position. :/
