I joined in March of 2005.

My first post was in this Nintendogs announcement thread...

http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?p=1801058&highlight=#post1801058

Someone needs to put together a photoshop of Snoop promoting Nintendawgs.

Oh how clever I was a decade ago!

I have no clue how I discovered this place or what let to me signing up. I likely learned of it from GameFAQs after getting tired of that awful board.

We should all post our first post in here, haha. The first few threads I posted in were mainly about Nintendogs, wow.

Costanza (RIP) brought me back here in 2005. Lurked for a few years before joining. I miss him. Anyone know how to get in touch? Shoot me a PM if so.

I think I was looking up Pikmin 3 reviews and came across the site. I'm surprised in retrospect that I'd never come across it before. I was starting to get back into gaming in a bigger way than I had been in many years. I'd continued to play games but I wasn't playing them as much or as eagerly following them online as I had at age 12-17. Anyway, I'm glad I found NeoGAF. There are a lot of great people here and I've gotten to learn about some excellent games I wouldn't have necessarily learned about otherwise.

one co-worker who is a gamer too sent me the link of a thread once, I lurked a bit on other threads and communities and made an account, 2 months later it got activated and made my first post on smash 4 hype thread.

GameFAQs board cited NeoGAF one too many times as its source of information.

Decided to go straight to the source.

I found Neo-Gaf through way back in 04 when I heard about the whole Halo 2 leak from that ****** guy. I can't remember what forum was used back then but then I eventually came to here and have stayed since.

I was previously on the G4TV forums in the 2003?-2006ish range. Things started getting bad and I somehow stumbled upon this. Lurked for awhile before deciding to join.

Signed up to get try and get myself some sweet Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Subway Beta codes for myself and some bros back in October of 2011, since people were posting bunches of them in the UC3 Pre-Release thread, hidden under quote tags.

What I didn't realize was how long validation took... eventually after a few days of checking back to see if I was a member I read about how validation often took a long time and the admins accepted people in bunches. I sporadically visited here and there after that until finally getting approved a few months later. Been posting (mainly lurking) ever since!

Was watching Pach-Attack when he mentioned that GAF was the biggest gaming forum, with some of the most intellectual conversations about gaming. Checked it out, completely disagreed with him.

But I grew to love you guys and joined.

I wanted to be part of the assholes that N4G/Systemwars hated :) And there was always inside info -- mature discussions with good moderation.

My roommate talked me into joining a decade ago.

He left the forum a few years ago after a tragic incident defending it from a missile.

I'm still here mostly for the Canadian deals discussion and I need A new pc thread.

I used to lurk on Quarter to Three. Then I started posting but was a dick, so naturally I fell out of grace of the clique at qt3. Not making excuses, my fault. I was also curious for this place called NeoGaf they kept mentioning, where supposedly everbody was an asshole and the mods were all sob's. So I checked it out and found it a thousand times more compelling than qt3 and stayed :)

Been around since about 1999 or so. I had been reading Gaming-Age for some time prior, even writing Letters to the Editors back when that was still a common feature of websites. When they opened up the forums it was kind of a natural progression.

I was off GAF for a period from 2004 to 2006. I recall they moved the forum to a new software, but nothing else transitioned over. It was starting over from scratch. I think during that time I took a couple years off before re-registering.

My ex lurked on here all the time but never posted. I eventually, for my own interests (animegaf and etc), decided to join and contribute absolutely nothing.

The Two Best Friends Play guys mentioned it a couple of times and I took a look and really dug it.

Pretty much this. Then when I actually came to peruse GAF, I immediately see the thread about a dude having a threesome and WhiteMan's rule immediately being put into effect. From then on, I knew this place was special

When Street Fighter IV was out, I was interested in learning more about fighting games and getting better. I didn't really care for the SRK community, but I checked out the FGC-GAF and they seemed cool so I registered for an account.

When I didn't get an approval after two weeks I sent a follow up email asking why it was taking so long (lol). I am actually somewhat surprised I got approved at all after sending that, since a lot of people have to wait a lot longer than that.

Referred here for gaming news, always had up-to-date stuff, found out I actually like a lot of the posters around here so I registered. 4 months later I was a junior member.

Heard about it over the years from the Best Friends Play channel on youtube. I lurked for a while in WrassleGAF mostly. Then I joined up

Wazzy and Anaron (RL friends) showed me the forum quite a few times.. After a while of lurking the gaming discussion threads with them, I decided I really wanted to join.

As soon as I had an email address I could use to register, history was made <3.

Got approved, then went to a GAF meetup like a month later.

It was during the Uncharted 3 Subway promotion. I really wanted to play Uncharted 3 before everyone else so I joined this forum to get a code... little did I know it would be a 5 month wait before I became a member. Worth it!

I joined right before the Dreamcast launched. People were bitching about Sonic Adventure no being 60 fps all the time, not much has changed lol.

Nothing too exciting, I just wanted to find people to play Animal Crossing: New Leaf with. I was actually lurking the Official Thread for 2 months before I decided to join.

Lurked for a long while, getting most video game news from the site exclusively. Read the thread for the Skullgirls Indiegogo campaign. Came across a cool set of pallet color ideas for a character and wanted to post it to the thread, so I tried to sign up.

Can't use g-mail, registering via my ISP's e-mail was at first rejected, then outright banned (which was freaking bullshit), no way to contact someone for reason or explanation. Later used my work e-mail to register and more or less said "screw this crap" and mostly went back to lurking.

I discovered it via a Google search about some game or another in 2004 or 2005. I signed up then, but wasn't approved until 2009. I did lurk on occasion over those intervening four years.

I was searching for porn and I mistyped it when searching it into google.

Not really as I honestly can't remember. <(>_<)>

Back when we started getting more info on PS4 (2013 E3 and so on), I found myself combing the Internet for the newest news about the system. NeoGaf was often mentioned as source in some of the writings and forum post I'd read, so I decided to come to the roots. Thus began my lurking days.

When Destiny launched, and I found myself without anyone to play with, I decided to apply in order to get some friends (I know, I know...) Got accepted pretty soon and I have been posting and reading most every day ever since.

Lurked for 3 years, ended up going on the site everyday less for videogames and more for OT stuff, decided to finally sign up for an account earlier this year, got approved last month I think.

Wanted to get in on GAF initally for the E3 discussions, So I joined up. Stayed for Off-Topic fuckery mostly.

Nothing quite like NastyGAF.

Only remind I was banned from Gamespot for a few days. After that made an account here.

Completely forgot about it until Gamespot website design changed. Then I started posting here and forgot about the other forum.

Nothing really much to it.

I was listening to a podcast a couple years back and they made me want to have a NeoGAF account.

I tried to sign up for one, but it wouldn't accept my personal email.

A year later, thanks to being a college student, I finally signed up and waited for about a couple of months.

I just checked my email account today and saw that I was accepted 2 months ago and here I am.

I lurked for a year or so before finally getting a non-free email account to use for registering to be able to post.

After another year I was granted posting rights, which has been pretty neat.

I really just wanted a forum where I could talk about things with some form of structure and formal moderation.

An old colleague of mine introduced me to GAF years ago. He's since moved to Japan but he's still an active poster on here and it's always nice to see him pop up in a thread I'm browsing from time to time.

If he sees it: Hi Onken!
