Telltale teasing TWD season 2?

In case you doubted this is The Walking Dead, Gary Whitta RT'd it.

Remember this:

"I can tell you what you already know, which is season two is coming. There’s not much to say because it really is very early…it’s a way off," said (Gary) Whitta. "But, knowing that it’s a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more walking Dead…there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two.” Whitta continued to tease that something is in the works right now “that will make the wait for season two slightly less agonizing.”

A short mini-episode to introduce new cast members maybe? Shit, I'm hyped.

Well depending on how far in the future this is that could be her on the left.
I don't think they would be allowed to go that far ahead in the future. It's only been a year or two comic book time. Carl's still only around ten. Of course, they could just spin off the game series into its own continuity like the show. Or maybe Kirkman doesn't give shit as long as they don't do anything that imposes on his continuity.

I don't get yours.

the game design is really lazy. it basically points you down a path and makes you think you're doing things. the only way this might have been considered interesting is if the game was making some sort of statement about choices, but it wasn't. as awful a thing as it is, heavy rain gave the player more actual control and had more actual consequences for their actions.

yes, i will defend heavy rain if it means the alternative is the walking dead.

I'm with AniHawk. The first game was a huge disappointment for me. The consequences of your actions are actually pretty shallow.

no i understood it: telltale made a game where there were no consequences and used decent scriptwriting and acting as a smokescreen.

I'd say the quality of writing goes far above and beyond its contemporaries, especially in convincing you that your decisions will matter. It puts the magic back into game decisionmaking, even if by the end it made little difference.

The game never set out to provide different consequences. It was all about the variations of that same story and how it reflected the player personally.

They really really need to step up the animation and visual consistency.... voice acting though was probably the best I have ever heard

i suppose that's a fair point, but they also set up situations to have people compare their playthroughs with each other and encourage discussion. i felt my own decisions mattered not at all once i started talking with other people about what happened when they did x.

you can have a kobayashi maru test work out with a similar ending as long as the path you take is your own the whole way. when i know my actions have no effect, why should i care about how i'm affecting the story?

To see how characters react to your choices? There is a degree of variation, just not the degree of your expectations. Remember this game is still an "indie" title and not a high budget AAA game. Season 2 should probably improve on what you're saying.

Whitta said there would be more walking Dead before season 2.
Maybe it's not season 2 but something else?

Season Two is supposed to come out this Fall, and not next year, right?

Yeah I think initially some at TTG said it was next year but the clarified later it was this year, or would at least start this year.

Yeah it's definitely TWD and I don't think it's Season 2. Maybe a prequel to introduce new characters? Or possibly an episode that connects the two seasons? Either way I'm psyched.

Its one of those games I felt bad for buying discounted.

I sure as hell didn't. On PC (don't think this was an issue on the consoles) the game decided to ditch my saves twice (both times happening in chapters 3 or 4). Pretty cool game (interest wore off for me during those later chapters) but it was a technical mess.

On the day episode 5 released it lost my file for all episodes and I had to start again, on the fucking day.

Hopefully they fix save issue stuff like this in season 2.

oh please let it be true. Loved the first one. Will get the second one 100%. I wonder if it will draw on the decisions you made in the first one.

Losing my saves in TWD 1 was rough, and the game really falls apart if you try to play through it again.

I still can't wait for TWD Season 2, I hope it's a whole new cast in a new location, don't mention anything from one and i'll be happy. At the most, I just want to see
Clementine's hat in the background during a scene.

Spoilers for season 1.

Crawford, that "community" within Savannah, kept track of the date by counting the days since the outbreak.

We were never shown explicitly how things went to shit at Crawford. Maybe this is a side story to show us it's downfall?

Fucking Telltale. I'm hyped.

While I didn't fall in love with TWD as much as some NPR was it a real GOTY contender for me. I still definitely liked it a lot especially as a interactive expierence.

I hope that I don't see a "twist" come as early as I did and that they iron out some of the issues the game had performance wise.
Also while it might be a bit much, would love to see them embrace the choose your own adventure style a bit more. Since there was a few times my choices were just a bit off from what was really going on.
