Powerful, Universal IR Blaster
The trick to the Xbox Ones ability to control other devices lies in a powerful infrared signal blaster position atop the Kinect. Much like a universal remote, it comes preloaded with the proper codes for remote controllable devices from a wide range of manufacturers, and dont be surprised if you can manually configure new devices that arent supported out of the box. When it comes to the power of the IR blaster, note that it was placed beneath the TV during the demo, yet it was still able to adjust the volume on the TV. Unlike a common remote control, it doesnt have to point directly at the device due to the strength and breadth of its IR broadcast.
It is still 5 minutes. It just lets you choose which 5 minutes you want to upload from the past 30 minutes.
is this an advertorial?
That is a weird limitation. Also it is saying all recording are in 1080p 60fps but only upload 720p 30fps. These sound like a bunch of facts that don't really mean anything. Can people get the full 30 min recording as high quality or is it just able to be a bunch of 5 min blocks.
A video demonstration of the latest build would be nice..
Updated.

Snap is a deal maker for me.
is this an advertorial?
The question is can you "snap" live TV while playing a game? As a person that only really watches live sporting events this would be HUGE!
It surely reads like one.is this an advertorial?

Its too bad we don't get to see it in action, there will still be ads, most of the features are rather pointless when everyone has access to a personal screen and camera for Skyping and web browsing without having to sacrifice screen space on the television, and most of these features have nothing to do with better video games.
Yes, that's what they've shown at the reveal.
you can play any game and snap TV, or any other app (Netflix, YouTube, IE, etc). You just can't snap two games, which makes sense because why would you want to?

Do we have any details on how the Ps4 runs in terms of noise and OS speed?
No, Sony's PR/marketing team is frustratingly quiet when it comes to talking about the hardware/OS.
The fact that 80% of all Sony news outside of E3 and Gamescom come from @yosp's twitter is extremely telling.
I mean, they obviously said nothing because they wanted the OS-demo on-stage to be a big deal, but it's frustrating knowing so little.
positive X1 news thread max potential 6 pages.
Yep. And derailed after 3 posts. Same shit every day. After the OP I pretty much stop reading the "positive" x1 threads as they degenerate with all the crap posts which follows.

A walk through of the dash is incoming according to Albert sometime this or next week.
Learn to ignore derailment, and focus on getting the thread back in-order. Complaining about it changes little.

It is a legit question to ask if this is an advertorial. People who cry wolf are just being reactionary to anything slightly negative about their preferred plastic box.
Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.
Wat?
I don't think the TV tuner would have anything to do with it considering the tuner is in the cable box for most people.I don't think you can, but I don't think this is a limitation of the XB1, it's a limitation of the tuners in TV's.
