Ten Ubisoft studios are working on Assassin's Creed Unity

It is sad to see that some people want to see AC dead even if AC is paying games like Child of Light, Valiant Hearts, Trials, even for games like The Division.

I want to consider what this split would be though.

Because we have:

Single-player
Side story/mini games (Checkers, ludo, whatever ACIV had)
Multiplayer
Cinematics
Mobile spin-off game
Mobile app
AC Initiates website (Seriously, it's a beast of a site and only growing)

And then you have all the different platforms, AND assuming this includes the rumored AC:Comet.

Plus, any exclusive side-story DLC (Like Liberation/Adewalé) which are nearly full games in their own regard.

Each studio could dedicate themselves to just one of those.

So Unity will be this chimerical construct with all sorts of shit sticking out of it and barely cohesively put together. Lovely.

If they manage to make revolutionary Paris as ungodly dull as the colonies, I'm going to give them a big hand
ful of shit.

Is that a lot? For Ubi and AC I mean?

How many did they have on AC4?

Have they just gone from a shitton of people working on AC to a metric fuckton?

There was no "intended purpose" to the quotation asides from ignorance. Historians are the ones who associated the quotation with selfishness. Not to mention there is no definite record of Antoinette even saying the phrase.

The Assassins Creed games are self aware in tone and portray history accurately. Crucifying the games for a use of a quotation is immature don't you think?

Something seems off with this. Should we not be upset that this was not historically confirmed or do we embrace it as part of the fictional side of the game?

They got the formula locked down and it brings them a good amount of cash every year so why should they stop? This is what I don't understand with the reactions some people have at 1000+ people working on one game. It's not risky at all. Is it expensive? Yeah but that doesn't have to be the defining factor when you can sell 11 million copies of your game in a year at full price.

Well, they use what they have. They used the quotation for promotion mostly. A lot of the times, the things these historical figures are most famous for are not portrayed in the games. EX Da vinci and the Mona Lisa , Ben Franklin and electricity.

Also, when that quotation was recorded on parchment, Antoinette was 9 years old.

I'm just frustrated by the crucifixion of ubisoft by GAF for reasons that make no sense to me.

Well, in terms of accuracy, Ubisoft is definitely striving towards something.

Their AC Initiates site is super detailed.

I mean Asperger's OCD Adderall level.

Look at that. Events cataloged down to the hour and minute they happened. Detailed art, descriptions, forum discussions. For EVERY entry.

But right now all the events that really focus around France are missing on the site. So we'll have to wait and see.

why? that seems incredibly inefficient. Well at least they get the games out.
Releasing an Assassin's Creed every year for several platforms requires fucktons of workforce, especially considering how different they can be with setting changing completely from American Revolutionary War in III to the Caribbean in IV, from traversing on ground to suddenly having a ship to sail. I mean, normally games of Assassin's Creed's scope would probably get maybe a 3+ year development cycle with a team of 300+ devs, but Ubisoft brute forces a release every year (they probably start these projects before the previous one has been released, but they move these massive armies to develop the next one after the previous one is done, giving them a year to finish the project with 1000+ devs for 5 platforms).
