I dunno how arnold can think this movie is better than Terminator Salvation. At least they weren't trying to re-write everything that was canon.

Deluded fanboys defending it of course but more script leaks... Hope they're not real :/

This whole movie seems like a big mess. It's as if they release some promo, we all shit on it (for very good reason) then they quickly turnaround some damage control promo as if to say "wait, it's not that bad. Look at THIS." One thing is pretty much consistent though- it looks terribad in all the promos/trailers.
 
I can't believe what I just watched. That was... I can't put it into words. It's like the writer's were producing the craziest ideas they could find in Terminator fanfiction, and made a script of it.

That being said, I would be lying if I said I didn't want to see it. At this point, I just want to see how far they go. Because if it doesn't turn out to be a good movie, it at least looks like an entertaining one, which couldn't be said of Salvation.
 
Found a summary of the leaked script, I won't post it here, anyone curious can PM me though.

But it does match what we've seen now and the rest is pretty damn stupid too. It comes off like a retread if T3 but worse.

I really hope it doesn't bomb. I want to see how insane they can get with this. As far as I'm concerned, the film series stopped after the first two, and they stopped judgment day. Everything else is just increasingly bizarre and entertaining fanfiction now.
 
The previous promo material made the movie look dumb, but not dumb enough to be worth seeing. This trailer makes it look so dumb that now I actually want to watch it to see how far they go.
 
The CGI is fucking terrible! T2 is still waaay more convincing.

It's embarrassing when two films that are getting sequels this summer have worse cgi than their early 90's counterparts, ie Terminator 2 & Jurassic Park.
 
How can people say this looks like low budget movie? I think it looks great, especially the fight scenes in the future are a great call backs to the first movie.

Those future scenes might be the cheapest looking thing in there. This looks like a Marvel Terminator movie, which isn't surprising given its Alan Taylor.

That is exactly how I feel. I think this will be an entertaining movie which is more than can be said about many sci-fi movies nowadays.

Jai Courtney - bad actor, but even worse at accents. There is nothing worse than hearing Aussie accents slip in and out of supposed American characters

Jason Clarke isn't a bad actor but his accent is worse than above.

Emilia Clarke, I know we like her because of Game of Thrones but her acting is pretty poor. As in GoT, it always looks like she is about to laugh, and to join the two above her accent sucks too.
 
Question: Why doesn't Skynet send back a Terminator to kill Sarah Connor's mom or dad? Their plan to kill her clearly isn't working very well, and I doubt this absurd "send a Terminator back and also her son who is infected by nanomachines" is going to work. Going farther back would allow for a clean(er) slate and not involve the massive retcons Terminator: Silly Name is pulling out of thin air.

I think Kyle says they didn't even know Sarah's address. Probably didn't have records on her mom, although she is killed in the first film

Let's be real, the only reason he didn't actually work on Salvation is that he was the governor. It had absolutely nothing to do with the script or his determination of the movie's potential quality. It's convenient for him to now pretend that he cares about quality because he's trying to sell Genisys.

brand new Human-Terminator hybrid
(Trailer spoiler)? It sounds batshit insane. That shot of Arnold fighting a shitty CG younger version of himself really is a testament to how far Hollywood has fallen.

They showed Arnold being a good guy in the trailer for T-2. There was still a lot to see in the film. (I'm not saying Genisys will be good like T-2, mind you.)

Truth. I'm normally not one to say " practical > cgi everytime" but this is one case where it would have been much nicer than any stupid Transformer bot the VFX artists could have cooked up. Hell, I'd actually say the scene with Blackout and the military base from the first TF looks better than the future war scenes we've seen so far.

Shit, T3 had a better future war scene than this, outside of the dorky laser blast sounds.
