Terraria turned 15 last week. Released back in 2011, it's been supported since with a constant trickle of content and it's the #14 top rated game on Steam. Released on PC (Windows/Linux), Playstation 3-4, PS Vita, iOS, Android, Windows Phone (lol), Xbox, MacOS, 3DS, Wii U, Switch and Google Stadia (lmao!).
Re-Logic recently released a huge update with new content and they promise continued support. With a Cross platform update in the works.

They regularly drop sales numbers, but this is the first time with more detailed PC, Console & Mobile numbers.
I am legit surprised over iOS & Android versions mogging the consoles. The mobile version it not your typical f2p game with in-app purchase mobile players have been conditioned to play, it's a 4,99 purchase.

Copies of Terraria sold to-date:

Total: 70 Million
  • PC: 39.6m
  • Console: 10.7m
  • Mobile: 19.7m

tModLoader: 12.3m downloads on Steam

Average Players/Day in the past year (PC)
  • Terraria: 461k (peaked at 1.4m)
  • tModLoader: 237k (peaked at 441k)
(Steam counts Terraria and TML separately)

Average Hours Played (PC):
  • Terraria: 101 Hours, 18 Minutes
  • tModLoader: 89 Hours, 52 Minutes

Great game.

On my third play through right now, they made the pre-hard mode a lot better with more combat and movement options. They recently added a new crafting menu and a auto sort to nearby chests button.

A few of those copies came from me. I need to do another playthrough. Started one with the recent update but got distracted before making much progress.

With 967 hours in the game it's one of my most played games on Steam. Last update probably added 130-150h or so.
Still have 3 achievements left.

This is one of those games where I played it for a few minutes and said "I'll get back to it later."

Narrator: He indeed did not get back to it later.

I have like 90 hours in this. Just thought "mhhh maybe I should get this for the Switch too" but it's super expensive. It's on sale right now and still costs more than the PC version :messenger_dizzy:

Full price at $29,99. That's probably because there is a cartridge version and price parity with digital is required.

Good for them, loved my time with it, I put probably 400 hours into this including initial releases.

Was it always on steam? I seem to remember a standalone launcher but maybe I'm mental.

My only negative memory of it is before they added the different block types blending properly and fixed grass not growing on dirt blocks it shouldn't, meaning I had to single tap each block to remove the grass.

Not that is some proper OCD shit haha
