Also, I don't really see what's wrong with Rad Gravity, it's catchy as hell.
 
The Sonic Spinball link in the OP is a terrible example, because it highlights how poor Genesis sound emulation can be. If you listen to it on a real console, it's much less harsh. It's still not a FANTASTIC song just based on how short it is, but I always thought it sounded kind of cool.

I don't know what's the story behind this track, but it's kind of weird how it made into the game. I've heard SoR3 was rushed, so maybe that has something to do with it or Yuzo Koshiro just had a bad day (as the guy has composed great tracks like this and this). I can forgive stuff like subway stage's music from SoR3 as it tried experimenting with its style (and that track is like early in its gabber genre).

Actually, isn't that the Jet boss fight song you listed as subway song? I liked SOR3's music, but that subway song that I think you were talking about was.....kind of strange to me.

I still like Finale Toccata, even though it's used way too heavily in the Inverted Castle. It just takes a long time to really get started.
 
Sonic Brotherhood should be in the "poorly composed" category.

Final Fantasy VII Steam version is sad considering that emulators do it better.

Resident Evil DC is just shameful. I would have killed to be a part of that soundtrack and this is what they do with it?

I have to add Streets of Rage 3. "BRRRR!! EEEEEEEE!! TTTHHHHHHH!!!" to a beat does not sound good to me. Yuzo was pissed at Sega for something.
 
A Link Between Worlds: Overworld Prologue

I know it's supposed to be the build up to the real overworld theme, but god is it repetitive. It didn't help that as soon as I was given control, I decided to explore every inch of the overworld that the game would allow before continuing with the story and this song was playing constantly. The rest of the game's soundtrack was nearly perfect though.
 
Flaahgra's theme is pretty awesome. Unfortunately, the original version of Metroid Prime had a glitch that just looped the beginning endlessly. This was apparently fixed in the PAL and Japanese versions, as well as the Trilogy version.

On the other hand, it's actually pretty good as a comedy track.
 
While I was playing Final Fantasy XIII, my wife would hear that repetitive music throughout the game. She hated it when I played this.

This is the only game I can recall that was terrible....at least for her. Didnt bother me.
 
The standard battle theme from Zelda: Twilight Princess sounds like it was composed on a 1995 Casio keyboard.

You hear those horrible "strings" at the beginning every single time you fight an enemy in this game.

The rest of the soundtrack was unmemorable, but that track stood out as unusually poor, and it's the most commonly-heard track in the game.

I like that track. For some reason, I really hate this section of the second Lorule overworld theme (1:04-1:10). It got on my nerves every time I heard it. The rest of the soundtrack is incredible though.
