Jingle All the Way? A Christmas Story? Bullshit.....

I think there's a distinction between movies that happen to occur during Christmas (Gremlins, Home Alone, Die Hard) and movies that specifically revolve around the season as a central plot point (Bad Santa, Jingle All The Way).



A recent bad one I can remember getting conned into watching at the theater was Four Christmases (Witherspoon, Vaughn). Another one is Christmas with the Kranks .. but I only lasted 25 minutes with that one before I walked out of the room.

Really? Home Alone doesn't use Christmas as a central plot point? LOL

Sadly, yes. First half is still good when he becomes Santa but when it cuts to then modern day, is when the script falls apart.


Also, anyone saying Jingle All The Way is good must be a child of the 90's as only those who saw it as a child would find that movie even remotely redeemable.

For the life of me, I've never understood the appeal of A Christmas Story. Absolutely terrible film in my book. Same goes for Elf. Never have been able to stand Will Ferrel's schtick. Best Christmas movies are Die Hard and Gremlins.

I love A Christmas Story and Elf both, and Gremlins is a horrible, horrible movie which is made worse by the insertion of the awful story about Demi Moore (or was it Phoebe Cates') dad dying at Christmas. Just fucking awful.

Jingle All the Way is such a fantastic Christmas movie. Arnold, Sinbad, and Phil Hartman kicked ass, plus it had Rita Wilson while she was still hot.
