Finally.

This is said to be the real sequel to Tobe Hoopers original.

Synopsis
Lionsgate’s TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars…

So many versions of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Original
Michael Bay remake
Rob Zombie remake
3D remake

Rob Zombie didn't remake it...

Unless your making a joke about House of 1000 Corpses

But you are forgetting about Next Generation which was a direct to video reboot/remake of sorts

This franchise was kind of well handled so far. Slightly optimistic for this one, but yeah

Can't wait for all the gimmicky scenes of the chainsaw coming towards you.
this

Reason for the delay was that it got a NC-17 the times it was submitted.

Now it's R.

rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.”

Also, trailer will be released soon too.

Yay trailers. I enjoyed the Platinum Dunes ones even though they were quite different from the original. But I remember the original remake trailer was so good.

Oooh I really like that poster.

I enjoyed the remake but the sequel was forgettable. I'm looking forward to this though.

Leatherface's first big scene in the remake was awesome, unfortunately it never reached that point again for me.

Part of me feels that this is going to suck..but I can't resist TCM

What part of TCM is real? I know it's based off a true story, not sure how lightly they're using that term though.

Leatherface (and his family) are loosely based on serial killer Ed Gein (i.e. wearing his victims' skin, eating parts of their bodies, making furniture out of bones, lampshades out of human skin, etc.)

That's about where the similarities start and stop.

edit: goddamnit, beaten by the Hugo girl and the Storm Trooper. :{

Heh, that one was so bad/good. Matthew McConaughey was hilarious in it!

This, I am constantly surprised that movie has not garnered much of a cult following. McConaughey is fantastic in it.

Also the original TCM2 is the best in the series, calling this the "real" sequel is bullshit. I'll be there watching it, but one truth reins supreme: Bill Moseley as Chop Top is better than anything else in the entire series.

The first remake was pretty decent.

I liked everything other than the 'Leatherface backstory' bit (or was that in the second one?).

What made Leatherface (and his family) so scary was that it wasn't explained in the original. They were just bizarre, cannibalistic, redneck predators living out in the Texas countryside. That was it.

Then again, I prefer things to be left to the imagination and follow the belief that there are just some scary, twisted people out there. Detailed backstories showing troubled childhoods and other such excuses just ruin the creepy mystery for me. Same problem I had with Zombie's shitty Halloween remake.

Sally! SAaaaaaLLlylyyyy!

I hate remakes.
2 was the sequel.

whatever, i'll probably see it.

also^
that dance is so awesome.

Was the Michael Bay version the movie where one of the dude was held down after Leatherface hammered metal restraints onto a table and the he began to flay the skin off the dude's arm? I really liked that scene.

The problem I have with some of these classic films is that the gore just isn't there the way you expect it to be. Everytime I watch the original Halloween I get bored.
