Is it just the recruiting or is it also the training? US cops seems so gun happy, they must be being taught to shoot first and ask questions later.

You have to realize that the amount of deaths from police shootings are so small in comparison to the actual numbers of police contacts each day. Filter out the justified shootings, the percent is even smaller. So no, they don't seem to be so gun happy.

You have to compare it to other nations. The number is insane.
