Texas is being overrun by Bob-ombs!

In Atlanta there are these little guys that look like pissed off Pac-Man ghosts. I've been seeing them for at least 10 years. I doubt they're actually meant to be a Pac-Man reference, but it's what they make me think of. The idea of nerdy graffiti is really humorous to me.

I've seen a lot of nerdy graffiti in big cities like Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris etc. Everything from Mario to something relatively obscure like Monkey Island.

I'm fine with street art as long as it's not anything hateful or on actual historically important buildings (or local businesses/houses/whatever). Some ugly grey old abandoned warehouses/walls or whatever are totally fine. A bit of human creativity can be a beautiful thing. In Berlin specifically street art is historically and culturally very important, given that city's history and modern art status. At this point I'd say it's one of the city's greatest attractions.

If they want to vandalize stuff thats fine but itd be nice if they left signs alone. Sign departments have enough to do without worrying about minor vandalism. It cost so much money to repair the signs that are in disrepair.

Edit: Op if you took these pics can you report them to your local agency. These types of things take away from the actual meaning of the sign and caurs and accident. Pls report asap

Boo. Any major city has this stuff. As long as it hurts nobody it's totally fine. We're not living in Footloose, it's fine to be a bit creative in the face of the authorities.

Do you own it? Don't vandalize it.

Or you could do what artists did in Atlanta and got permission to turn a bunch of manufacturing plants/warehouses into art projects. They used it to highlight the massive exodus of business.

Nah, I don't agree at all. Yes, you need to be responsible with that stuff. Of course. Don't ruin historically important buildings or people's homes or places of business etc, like I said.

But read about Berlin's street art for example: http://www.visitberlin.de/en/see/museums-art/street-art

Some of it was made in cooperation with the city, a lot of it wasn't. It's extremely significant to the city - once one of the biggest examples of a city owned by hostile forces, of families being ripped apart, of freedom being suppressed on the highest scale. Now it's a beautiful expression of art and creativity, of humanity. The fact that not all of that went through government channels but just individuals expressing themselves is truly beautiful, I think. And something the city actually encourages and is proud of. Just walking around there now is amazing, in a large part because of that. The way the city transformed from what it was into a beacon of art is just wonderful.

Like I said, it comes with a responsibility. But something as small as a couple of bob-omb stickers isn't worth getting bent out of shape over.
