So far underwhelming and I don't even compare it to the GC.
It isn't even complete for the companies listed, Senjou no Valkyria from Sega is missing, I believe Irem is showing a new game and Level 5 is definitely showing WKS.

Wait I thought the Phantasy Star IV remake was cancelled?

It was. This Sega Ages version is the original Phantasy Star IV, not a remake.

No, Sony is showing WKS. Level 5 is showing its self-published stuff, which is Layton 2 and, apparently, another new DS game.

Oh....:(

Well I guess that disk would be cool if it came here (which it won't) because I could have them all on one disk.

Well, looks like I was right. Not much Wii stuff going on. Would be real surprised if anything of value is announced. Gonna be a good year for the DS, though. The PS2 should get a lot of love, too.

Christ are you guys capable of reading other posts?!?

THIS IS NOT THE FULL RELEASE LIST.

<sigh> I know it's not the full list, but it does kinda show a trend. Either way, I should be at the Tokyo Game Show to ask the hard questions. Well...try to ask the hard questions. Heh, heh.

No no no..how does a early, partial list from a few companies listing already announced games show any sort of trend whatsoever?

But if you really want to go there, aren't there more Wii titles on this list than 360/PS3 combined?

Metal Slug 3 XBLA is a nice surprise, though if they're jumping immediately to the best game in the series it makes me worried we won't get MS1 or MSX. And if they're going immediately to the best Metal Slug, why waste time with FFS and not just give us MOTW? :/

And abnother new DS game from L5? Betrayalaton continues... at this point they've got more DS releases than PS2 releases under their belts. :lol

It is cool that Level 5's got a new DS game coming. Hopefully it's an RPG of some sort (traditional, action, strategy, whatever) this time. Layton's really nice, but since we've got three of those coming, I'd like to see something that falls more within the realm of Level 5's traditional fare as well.

There's no betrayal... it makes sense to go with the DS for their self-published stuff since it's the least expensive platform and the market leader. The rumors were all that Level 5's going to unveil several new games at TGS, though, and I'd imagine most of those will be new Sony-published things. So where's the betrayal?

Truth be told, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I just remember this thread the other day where someone asked about the TGS would look like for the Wii.

Even though this is a partial list, it's still dominated by the DS and PS2 (and rightly so). SNK doesn't have any Wii games, which if funny since I remember there being talk of one of their fighting collections headed to the Wii a couple months ago. Perhaps they're not gonna bother with that since Neo Geo games will end up on the VC. Granted, there are still lots of companies not on that list so anything is possible.

Either way, I think this show is going to be rather interesting, which is why I'm gonna sit through that crazy ass line to go this year.

List of new games.

I figured using NeoGAFspeak and a smiley would be enough to imply a fairly nonserious tone... guess I didn't go far enough?

Wow. Is that supposed to be from the complete list, or is that based on a partial list?

I didn't know Level-5 was big enough to handle so many titles at once (I remember wodering how they were able to get Rogue Galaxy/Jeanne D'Arc/Layton all within reasonably short time spaces; they now have Dragon Quest IX, Layton 2/3, White Knight Story, an untitled new DS project and possibly even more titles to announce at TGS). They must have expanded greatly since their early days.

Probably with the gobs of cash they made off DQ8... expansion makes sense, especially now that they're moving into self-publishing.

It should be noted that a few of their games are combined development efforts too though (ie: Armor Project on DQ8/9, Arika on Layton).

the wii is 4x the 360 and 8x the ps3

No. Its only the list for those 52 publishers/developers who have said this up to the 20. july. Up to this date 52 developers/publishers have said they are showing 336 games. Only 40 of them said, on which platform (200 games). So its not complete.

Don't anybody get their hopes up for FFXIII...

I think everyone is pretty much expecting to see the same trailer, again. Maybe they will spell Blizzard right this time though.
