TGS is over...now we reflect....

It was okay. Better than previous years. First time I gave a shit about FF in awhile as well so that's an accomplishment.
I still have no reason to keep my Vita, unless I never get a PS4. Might have to look at it.

No Persona 5 is insane to me

There was a trailer. Don't expect gameplay until its actually close to be done. Like most Persona games.

Good:

FF15!
Bloodborne
MGS5
D4 surprise release

Bad:

No Persona 5 news outside of the brief anime PS4 reveal was bizarre, especially when you consider it was originally going to come out at the end of the year. A little bit more information, even if it wasn't gameplay or screens more would of been nice.

No Kingdom Hearts 3 was expected, but still a bit of a let down.

Some of these games look promising...too bad they were only release in Japan.

It's good, it made me excited about the upcoming Japanese games.

Sure there's always some bummers or weird games here and there, but overall I'm excited!

Looking at that list, it seems pretty horrible to me.

The lack of PS4/XBO exclusives is disappointing given it's what? Almost 2 years now when those systems were announced and Japan still isn't supporting it? Cross-gen is not good enough.

no gr2 is the biggest downer.

tlg is officially dead.

oh and iam disappointed about ff15, looks pretty lame. graphics look alright. i hope it gets better.

and i didnt hear about the other games. i have to admit, these times i miss a magazine who would just cover up everything worth mentioning. neogaf was a mess, and my favourite german gaming pages did a really bad job at this. only mh, mgs and ff.

wtf is only left for me.

It was much better than other years, especially if you have a PS4 or like SE.
But lol at expecting something great from Capcom, although they showed Deep Down.

No real fighter news

No action game news.

Meh.

I mean, yeah, there was nothing new announced, but there're still a bunch of fighters that were recently released/are coming soon.
Under Night In Birth EXE Late, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, Guilty Gear Xrd, BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma 2.0, and Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U.

That's just games released/coming between August and December.

I thought there was a lot of good this year. Devil Survivor 2 remake being re-announced, the Bloodborne goodies, FFXV trailer, new Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX footage.
I think I would have been a lot happier if more been more announced, but I'm still quite pleased.
Too bad Nintendo didn't announce anything or take advantage. With a new system on the way, I would have wanted to see some new games or something being announced in anticipation for the new system.

The Good
FFXV trailer and some gameplay
Type-0 HD footage and release date
More Bloodborne
A super awesome eyepatch wolf/dog companion in MGS, plus more game footage

The Bad
No Persona 5 footage or info
No new KHIII footage, but it's understandable
And worst of all, there was no Devil May Cry 5 announced :/

Overall, I'd say it was the best TGS in a while.

Good:
Many Japanese games are coming to PS4
Many Chinese version games are coming to PS platforms. Like Yakuza 0

Bad:
Microsoft is still abandoning the Asian Market.

Yep.

I WISH KOJIMA WOULD CONFIRM if Silent Hills is an exclusive or not... because the second I hear it's an exclusive is the second I get out and go buy a PS4 so I can finally play some P.T

wasnt aware gaf had an issue with musou games, considering how lively those threads tend to be(aka warriors orochi/dw8CE/hyrule warriors) but TGS was okay this year, wish we would have gotten some info on that new Way of the samurai project on the vita but oh well i can wait.

Went as expected, got to see tons of updated gameplay for games announced already. Few big new games announced. Tons of under the radar "Japan only" games announced.

I agree.

But other than that I thought it was pretty good. A little dissapointed that we didn't get any Persona 5 gameplay, but I'm happy enough knowing it's coming next year and for PS4. The other major disappointment for me would be no PS4 version of Tales of Zestiria.

Don't be silly, you'll get Tales of Zestiria ABC on the PS4 in a couple of years.

Why would bamco release it on both formats now when they can wait a couple of years, bung in an extra character and some new skits and get people to double dip

TGS was good on new info.
But it sure was lacking in anything brand new though.
Just about everything we saw we knew was coming.

The good:
- Guilty Gear Xrd still looking AWESOME, also demo coming on Japanese PSN Oct 15
- Fuckin' SELVARIA in Dengeki Bunko Waifu Climax
- Persona 5 on PS4 is pretty cool I guess, but it will probably look exactly the same
- Japanese 3rd parties still making Vita games, most of them cross-platform with PS4 but that's ok for me

The bad:
- Still very little info on Persona 5
- Sony 1st party really done with the Vita
- Type-0 HD still not on Vita

The missing:
- New Miku game
- Gravity Rush 2

Good:
- Hey, Japanese titles for PS4. Those are always nice.
- FFXV in general. Actually looks like a tangible game that's actually going to happen at this point instead of a series of target render videos that pop up every few years. Shit, we're even getting a demo next year
- Type-0 actually getting a release date (And with a reigions getting within a day or two of each other)
- Phantom Pain looks fantastic
- Bloodborne still looks great. Don't even like Souls games but excited for it
- Dai Gyakuten Saiban looks even better than I imagined
- Deep Down isn't dead and actually looks pretty decent for a f2p title.
- Resident Evil Revelations 2 looks great
- A lot of great 3DS/Vita support

Bad:
- No Gravity Rush presence at all
- Same with KHIII (This is understandable, though)
- Aside from Guilty Gear, not much of a fighting game presence
- Why in the everloving fuck does MGSV still not have a release date

All in all, best TGS in years. Can't believe I'm saying this in a post PS2 era generation, but Square-Enix officially held it down this year. Bonus points for actually making their trailers and shit available online worldwide on Day 1 instead of waiting until after TGS was over. Good shit.

Edit:

The good:
- Guilty Gear Xrd still looking AWESOME, also demo coming on Japanese PSN Oct 15

WAIT WHAT

"Bad = Musous"?

wat

exactly.

musou in japan = zombie games in the west.

they're basically the same thing. one is more concerned about flashiness and keeping the combo meter going while the other one is more concerned about number of kills and violence.

Best TGS in many years and a classical 'Tokyo Game Show' as well with all the Japanese heavy hitters more or less making a presence.

Bloodborne was Game of the Show. It looks better than it has any right to. Better looking and more promising than any other next-gen game so far displayed. Now with firm global release dates between Feb 3rd-6th!

Final Fantasy XV actually showing up as a REAL game was a genuine surprise to me and it looks interesting! Demo coming in just a few months as well... it's actually happening.
Konami on the up again with MGS5, Silent Hills, Pro Evo Soccer...
Lots of upcoming JRPG goodness as well tho sad we didn't get to see more of KH3 & Persona 5.

Deep Down is good looking. Pre-tgs Morpheus 'Summer Lesson' announcement was despite criticism probably one of the higher budget (dedicated) VR titles upcoming.

Wasn't there going to be some sort of Sony Japan announcement during some Bloodborne presentation today? Did already happen? What was it?

Other than that:

The good:
- New Info and trailer for FFXV and it's looking good so far
- Bloodborne and MGS V still look awesome
- Persona 5 on Ps4!

The "ok I guess":
- Everything gets turned into a dynasty warriors
- Deep Down looked fun in the trailer (but is still F2P)
- FF Type 0 looks fun enough and got a considerable graphical update

The bad:
- 8 years in development and we are still talking about demos square? Really?
- Persona 5 was just shown in the form of an anime style video
- Did Nintendo show/announce anything new? Because I didn't hear a thing about them over these past few days. Not even a new Xenoblade trailer
- Another great Yakuza titile... another great game we will never see in the west
