That one animal you feel bad eating.

The only occurences where I'd feel bad eating an animal is if it is from an endangered species. I'd feel like I'm contributing to its extinction while there are tons of cattle to be eaten.

Everything else is fair game though.

squid :(
SO cute!
So delicious.

Couldn't care less if other people eat meat but find it weird that people can rationalize eating certain animals and not others because of the way they look.

Feel real bad for eating saltwater animals, since a large number of them come from those horrible stripmines known as fishing fleets. That's why I always try to go for the freshwater option (invariably farm-raised) any time I can. I also feel expecially bad for eating octopus due to their intelligence.

No problem with any particular animal, but I felt strange eating bull bollocks, and I eat a goat brain once served whole, which was extremely off putting.

I'm a Vegetarian and find you all to be horrible monsters that deserve a fate worse than Scientology.

I have a Vegetarian friend who I always forget is Vegetarian and I get into really descriptive prose when I talk about how I trim, prepare, and cook meats.

Like, I cooked up this 8lbs leg of lamb for Easter just this past Sunday and she was all "What'd you guy eat for Easter" and I just go on for about 5 minutes about everything I did to make this hunk of bleeding meat/fat into a delicious meal and then I remember myself and look and she's completely mortified.

I must always seem like a monster to her when I do that, like I'm a normal dude who occasionally is just possessed by a demonic being.

It's hilarious.

Hey guys, found the person to regurgitate one of the oldest jokes in the book. Apologies if you didn't actually mean it, but most people somehow find that as a slight against vegetarianism.

Much less than if we were supporting animal farming, though. :)

Perfection is not the goal.

The thread is literally "The one animal you feel bad for eating". If you're posting "I don't feel bad for eating animals because I don't eat animals" you contribute nothing and come off like a snob who is taking an opportunity to feel superior.

I've been too brainwashed for remorse at this point, meat tastes too good to give a fuck. I would not go out of my way to eat any domestic animals though ie cats or dogs. It does give me pause sometimes knowing pigs are supposedly as smart as dogs if not more so, yet my lust for bacon and slow cooked pork is pretty overpowering :p

If I had played with that piglet during the day and seen it served to me on a skewer later that night, I would definitely feel horrible.

I'd probably still eat.

No, actually, I'd probably run to the bathroom and cry for my friend.

I don't really subscribe to any of those don't eat/wear/test on animals because it's cruel, etc, ideas. Sure, there is cruel treatment here and there, but for the most part I can keep it out of mind.

Except when it comes to veal. That shit is way too fucked up, and I've never been able to bring myself to even try it.

I had rabbit once and felt really bad afterwards, but as I soldier on in this mortal coil I have started to feel bad about eating any mammals... I'm generally keeping away, but I can't resist a burger...

Another interesting (you decide) anecdote.

When I was a kid (early teens) I helped raise a pig from a tiny piglet into a nice meaty pig and even named it (I called him Merf because that's the sound he made) and then ate the shit out of him. Merf was a great pig in life, and in death.

None. I almost had a deerburger once, but my momma flipped out at the thought, took me home, then cooked me one of those Eddie Murphy RAW burgers instead. Worst cookout ever.

All of them. I don't enjoy consuming animals at all and plan on stopping as soon as I get paid this week. I strongly prefer being vegetarian and will work towards being vegan.

Pork. Raising most market animals hasnt slacked my enjoyment of them, but when it comes to pork i honestly start to graph pros and cons in my mind which almost immediately get discarded when the food becomes available to me.

Rabbits
We raised rabbits in our house for meat but instead we fell in love with them and could never bring our selves to harm them. I still remember how painful was losing them one after another I used to cry my lungs out every time one of our rabbits dies.
That's why i will never get a pet I don't want to experience that pain again.

Yeah, I honestly don't know if I could do that. Once you've established a connection with an animal, that's an entirely different thing.

I technically feel bad for all of them, since most of them are raised so shittily and then are killed and eaten with no respect at all. But then they are so delicious...

Chicken and cow. And pig.

Every day, it's a slaughter. They suffer a lot before they die. Even most of those that where grass fed.
It's not right, but I am not making excuses. I break my principles knowing it hurts them.

I don't have a problem with eating them. At all. I just don't like that they are never get to walk, the chickens are so stuffed into together they chop each other to pieces, literally going insane.

I think it's because of the mass level we do it. And I eat so much meat. I hope a lot less animals will suffer when we figure out artificial meat. Or if we can somehow better store the animals in such a way they don't live in torment before we eat them.

Hopefully as the rest of the people transition to lab grown
shit
meat/vegan-ism the meat industry will not feel the need to employ these practices and can grow them with more care.

None, because I don't eat any mammals and don't feel guilty for eating fish or birds.

Edit: Oh wait, there's a mammal I eat: pigs. But they are gross so I don't care.
