That's the worst part of the game.
I'm going to say that the original pre-patch of this level is still the greatest thing ever. When things slowed down as more and more enemies filled the screen, it was epic.
This is the one and only time where slowdown was acceptable to me.
The patch ruined it.
To this day I still rock my Gold Hayabusa gamerpic. This game was/is so awesome. I loved all the boss fights in this game and goodlord the difficulty made beating this game actually mean something.
It always felt implied to me that he sacrificed himself for the mission. In Ninja Gaiden 2 they never really made it clear if Robert survived the demon attack as he was holding them off for Irene and Ryu to escape.
I think that's the post-patch version because I remember fighting waaay more enemies there.
This is patched
Now imagine if that part ran at a constant 60fps.
To this day I still rock my Gold Hayabusa gamerpic.
Pity they patched that sequence to fix the framerate, reducing the insane number of enemies by a bunch.
If you do replay it, don't install the patch until after you beat that area.
reminiscing about how great this game was gives me a little more hope that devil's third won't entirely suck.
