That one game you always go back too.

Somehow i always end up, beating this game, its like it tells me, "just one more run son, you know you want it"

Its great and it hooked me in the series, ive never played any resident evil game before this one, and it blew me, my first experience was with the wii version so i cant say anything about how it plays with the gamecube controller

Like a few others in the thread, I have a lot since I replay stuff all the time.

Unsurprisingly, Genso Suikoden I and Genso Suikoden II are on that list, and I play them annually. Looking over the most recent Suikoden II LTTP thread, you'll probably see why I like GS2 so much, especially in this post.

Same goes for:

- Chrono Trigger
- Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
- Yoshi's Island/SMB3
- Megaman 2/Megaman X
- A Link to the Past/Majora's Mask/Link's Awakening
- Rondo of Blood/Super Castlevania IV
- the Soul Blazer Trilogy (Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma)
- Turtles in Time
- Super Metroid
- Sonic 2/Sonic 3&Knuckles (though I'm very tempted to add Colours and Generations to that)

Genso Suikoden I/II, Yoshi's Island, and Sonic 2/Sonic 3&K are probably the most theraputic of the bunch for me.

Europa Universalis 3. I can always count on it to give me a good time. Mario Kart 64 is another, N64 is back at home though!

Twisted Metal 2 and Twisted Metal Black. Loves me some Twisted Metal

Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario RPG are some Mario classics I can always go back to.

Legend of Zelda OOT is a classic as well.

Super Mario Bros. That game is still complete perfection to me. I can put that game on at any time on any set-up or console/handheld and just zone the fuck out. Loved it since BEFORE i got it with my NES (87...88?). The craziest way that I've ever played it was on the GBA PLAYER for Gamecube. If you had 2 controllers plugged in either controller could manipulate the game. So naturally me and my lil cousin got high and drunk and proceeded to complete the game warp-zone free with one of us controlling movement and the other controlling the A-B buttons. Oh my God, pure hilarity! I mean soooooo much fun! sadly my lil cousin passed away about a year ago. he was like a brother to me. i'm glad that because of his love for video games I have a great memory of my cousin having an awesome time playing my favorite game of all time.

Haven't played it in a while, but for a time, Wacky Racers was my most played game on the Dreamcast. I'd play it every 4-6 months.

If it weren't for the fact that I just couldn't re-acclimatize myself to the godawful Dreamcast controller, I might go back and play it right now.

Ikaruga / Radiant Silvergun
Virtua fghter 5
Mostly a lot of shmups wont list em all.

Also skate , even tho its been a while since i actually did the sport , i still find it really fun just to leisurely find a good spot to skate , add some ramps and see what i can do.

Good times.

EDIT : Almost forgot i play double dragon 2 almost every month...same with ninja gaiden on nes.

For the past year or more? Madden NFL Arcade. Admittedly, it's a terrible game. I turn game changers off, crank the difficulty, and pick the Cleveland Browns. I play it at least a few times a week, it's relaxing.. a lot of times I kick out a couple games just before bed.

It's a broken piece of shit game, the only play that covers the RB is the "Y" middle defense. Any other defensive play leaves the RB wide fucking open. The PC is terrible on pretty much every level.. run the ball on 4th and 50? Sure.. why not.

I also hate the Cleveland Browns. Brady Quinn is the QB. They are one of the worst teams in the game. My receivers are Mohamed Massaquoi and Josh Cribbs. My HB is an old Jamal Lewis. Before using exclusively the Browns I always picked New Orleans.. I also hate New Orleans.

I win every time, but I keep going back.

Before that was Baseball Advance from the GBA library. It was 2001 rosters, and I still played the shit out of it until 2011 when the cartridge finally gave out. I just haven't gotten around to buying a new one. It's the purest and greatest baseball sim out there. I've played upwards of 10 full seasons. You can't trade players, which always bugged me, but still I kept at it. I made up new names for players, pretended that the rosters were up-to-date, though it's hard to pretend their is more than 4 fields.. but it worked since I always played Seattle.

I don't think this game will ever be beaten. Figuring out where you come from as a character, a battle of intergalactic proportions, the feeling of exploring a long-lost ancient civilization, a fictional world and a gameplay world combined seamlessly. Boss battles, space pirates, amazing music, amazing graphics/design (to this day), perfect controls, amazing pacing.

Love the sequels too.

World of Warcraft

Made my account Day 1 and every couple of years I resubscribe to check out all of the new stuff. Almost got really addicted late last year but managed to pull myself away by focusing on a few PS3 platinums.

Great game. Probably my favorite game of all time.

The two big ones for me are:

Metal Gear Solid 2
Final Fantasy VII

It seems like there is a new version of MGS2 coming out just about every year so I always have reason to go back.

It was WoW but last year I quit for good. No amount of Pandering will get me to go back.

My main Go-To games are usually Diablo 2 and Borderlands. Just love collecting loot!

It no longer exists. I always thought that either SMW or Tetris would be it ... or even WoW or HL2 for newer games ... but I just don't want to play older games I've already experienced anymore. I was always excited about remakes; it was a way to play classics I loved, but not anymore.

I have a few.

Devil may cry 3
Ninja gaiden sigma
Street fighter alpha 3
Tekken tag 1
Sonic 2
Marvel vs capcom 1

Over the years I've played these titles more hours than all the other games I own combined.

One day I will buy a cheap wii just to finish this game. I don't normally like shooters but I remember playing this game and not being able to put the controller down. It was my brothers GameCube and he sold it out of the blue mid way through my playthrough.

Many games come close, such as my favorite Final Fantasy VI, or the Summer Games series on the Commodore 64, but I think the game I would always come back to when I need one is the Virtua Fighter series of games. I could play any game in that series up to no end. VF 4 particulary was my go to game for so long.

Yoshi Island, Super Mario World, Smash Bros, Zeldas ..... the basic.
Outside those, these 3 are the most played games ever :

Im the only one that still plays punch out to this day? :(

You're not alone. I randomly play just for fun when I'm feeling the itch to do so. One of the best games of all time.

That one game for me is easily Streets of Rage 2. I've played and beat the game in every way I possibly can and it's still a blast to play. Says a lot about the game I think. One day this will be replaced by SoR Remake I just know it.

Daigasso Band Bros. DX, and the Rhythm Heaven games.

A quick musical fix in my pocket--one of those games is never far from my DS.

Zone of the Enders 2 and the Puzzle League games are others that I go back to more than most things outside of fighters.

Many Final Fantasy games (Primarily X and XII)
Chrono Trigger/Cross
Power Stone
SSX Tricky
Mischief Makers
Super Mario RPG
Front Mission 3

This was my very first Zelda game and it brings me ridiculous amounts of nostalgia. I don't think I can even comprehend my love for it. <3

Oh and others I guess:
  1. Devil May Cry 3
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
  3. Metal Gear Ac!d 2
  4. Metroid Prime
  5. Paper Mario
  6. Resident Evil (remake)
  7. Resident Evil 4
  8. System Shock 2
