EDIT: My understanding is that the shrieking is more of how they were trained to breathe when hitting the ball, not necessarily because it was distracting.

Machine Messiah is on point. This stuff was drilled in at Bolletieri academy for maximum power hitting, which is what he does. Complaining is pointless. Maria does it practicing as well. If you're that fucking annoyed (and personally I dislike the lower tone ones that sound like orgasms, not good old fashioned screams, although Azarenka's vuvuzela lasts a bit too long) then the solution is starting at the academies, not implementing some random limit in matches.

Women's SF is great in terms of top names, but may end up one-sided with these match-ups. Masha not playing quite well enough to match Vika's hardcourt levels (we know h2h on that surface this winter), but I'm happy with her third GS SF of the year. Errani is actually maybe the only player left who could trouble Serena, but that's a big maybe.

Still amazing to see Errani in her second slam SF of the year. Great story, produced some very fun matches. Bad serve, but great tenacity, agility.

Despite my feelings about Andy Roddick's attitude, this is really sad to see him go. He was an incredibly consistent player for many years and the pride of U.S. Tennis after Sampras/Agassi. Good show of respect from Delpo.
