The 3DS gameboxes are pretty awesome

The only case of mine that has the art in the eco holes is Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy, and I just got the game yesterday. Nintendo of America needs to step up their game, seriously...

I mean yeah I know it's silly to complain about art in the eco holes, but all the other regions get it...so why not us?

lol, I'd love to see the manuals for such a case. It would be like one of those really tiny comic books that you basically need a magnifying glass to read. But it would be so cute! xD
Well, starting with Super Mario 3D Land there were no manuals to speak of anyway. Meaning: The actual manual for Super Mario 3D Land is on the cartridge (you access it by clicking on the "manual" button when highlighting the 3DS game slot in the 3DS main menu.)
The "manual" that came with the game was a 4-page-paper that explained the very basics of the game, namely how to control Mario.

Which is fucking bullshit! I was a bit disappointed in Nintendo for doing that because I thought colorful manuals were one of the things they would continue to do, especially for their mainline games. I guess it is better for the environment though.

At least you can download these manuals on their website as PDFs and print them out yourself. Sadly they're the same as the on-cart manuals. So no colorful stuff here :(

only in Japan as of now
:lol

Yes boo, we shall keep praying.

It's already a surprise when the inside used in a clever way. This is the firt time I've seen the OoT one since the Japanese version doesn't have it.

Now this is something Sony should try to copy asap. A jacket/game case looking way cool inside out could very well make up for the missing manuals.

I love that kind of thing. Treating certain parts of the world as less worthy of such thngs.

I can still remember how all Japanese Dreamcast games came with nice color manuals. In the U.S all we ever got were cheap black and white.

A terrible harbinger of things to come!

And the inside of Starfox.

I was like "...why the villains have all 'A's on their heads ?" and then it hit me =P

Also ...lol at the spoilers not shown by the plastic
...who is the racoon dude on top of fox's dad ?
...or fox after all the medals
, if this easter egg still exist in the 3ds version

Wow, what the hell. I had no idea other countries had boxes like this. It's bad enough that the 3DS cartridges are grey.

What's interesting is that my copy of SSX doesn't suffer from this. It's solid plastic throughout. It's slightly thinner where the disc is kept, but only slightly.

I don't think they use cases with the plastic cut out any more. I haven't seen those in a long time. Most of the games I get now have the same pattern but instead of the holes it's just thinner plastic in those areas.

Extremely practical and the best way to make up for a loss of in-case manuals. I like it—enough to proclaim that Reggie's body wasn't ready for it. Oh the humanity. And just imagine what a Megaman Legends 3 box insert might have been like!

so.... they save a little plastic but add a double sided printed cover, with all that ink and processing. Really eco friendly.
It's more about saving walmart and other companies money by cutting out the weight and saving a small bit of gas for transportation as a result.

Yeah actually Sony is the best with the inside covers right now because their entire case is clear.

Someone post American boxes!

That bear is rob's replacement for the tutorial mode. He's only there, not in the actual game. And yes, the sunglasses bit is still there obviously.

Americans hate creative, visually appealing packaging. This is known. That's why every cover has to have one to four main characters poorly photoshopped in a group, looking slightly off camera. If we opened a case and saw little men staring back at us, our puritan hearts couldn't stand the joy and we'd fall dead on the spot.

At this point they should just go with clear 3DS cases.
Remember NOE did that for the DS...given NOE were so creative the only inner cover "art":

Its easy to forget.

Given I've seen no third party games bother there was probably a rule forbidding inner cover art.

Now fully voice acted and with an awesome voice.
