I liked The Artist but wasn't my favorite film this year, dog was great though, also almost made me cry near the end, I thought it was a bit slow in parts.

You acknowledge The Hobbit and you do it now!!!

Plus Prometheus and Gravity.

Finally - not only Ridley Scott's return to sci-fi, but a new Alfonso Cuaron movie. Which is also sci-fi. Too good. I'm particularly trying to stay away from info on Gravity as much as possible. That film will demand to be viewed with fresh eyes.

As far as sci-fi in 2012 there's also Rian Johnson's Looper, certain to be working with a much smaller budget than the two big ones. It'll be interesting to see how that one ends up.

Anyone else notice weird feedback coming out of the microphones all night? I thought it was my speakers until I started noticing it on clips from tonight

so annoying...

Daniel Day-Lewis seems an obvious lock for a win as Lincoln next year. It's exactly the type of role the Academy loves, and I don't think there's any doubt he'll deliver.

Oscar whiners are some of the most annoying there are.

Maybe it's their "fuck this! I'm done! it's over! old men! outdated! nostalgia! I'm never watching again!" thing every year like clockwork.

How many times can you "quit forever" anyway?

They are all wrestling fans, with the same mindset.

What was the song being played during the final montage listing all the films nominated for Best Picture? Sounded like a Godspeed You Black Emperor song or something I've heard before, but I couldn't quite place it.

Coming next year the long standing vindication of Paul Thomas Anderson for "The Master"

Oh yeah, that's right. Hopefully the Coens can cook up something good in time for a 2007-repeat:

Andrew Dominik vs. Paul Thomas Anderson vs. The Coens vs. Ben Affleck vs. Ridley Scott vs. Tony Gilroy vs. Joe Wright

I wonder how many of the haters actually saw the movie. Same goes for Streep.

Best outcome that could've happened for best Actor/Actress/Movie. I loved Hugo as well but tying for most Oscars with 5 awards it's not like it was snubbed or anything. Cherry on top was Rango winning best animated film. Overall, not bad at all.

she shouldve won best supporting, probably. the movie would not have been the same without her.

jean dujardin and best picture wins were well deserved though. his performance in that movie was really wonderful.

i also thought 'the artist' looked boring but i saw it and it was my favorite movie of last year. well, drive too, but that wasnt an option for some reason.

It's from Super Moneyball for SNES.
