Some of that concept art for GG is just so busy design wise. And you're right, Electro is extremely one dimensional. I'd actually like to see The Chameleon pop up in a small cameo in the next film.

Ideally, he'd frame Spider-man and lead to Oscorp creating Scorpion to fight him. This way it would still keep the Spidey as public enemy numero uno. Then have Norman Osborn and J Jonah Jameson come into play as the media antagonists. Then after spidey finally defeats Scorpion, Oscorp would get DNA extracted from scorpions tail when it sliced peter at some point in the fight. Thus setting up Carnage as a possibility. That's the efficient way to do it, not the Hollywood way though and will probably never happen. Oh well... a man can dream...

Yeah, Chameleon could be pretty interesting and emotional at the same time if handled right. His suicide is in the 616 comics was a really memorable issue for me at the time..

But yeah, the sequel could go a million ways and I doubt they even have anything locked down.

Makes sense especially considering the movie hasn't released yet and they don't know what people will think. Which just confounds the hell out of me that they've already hired people to write a sequel. Of course, I assume that the writers of the sequel have read the the script or seen a rough cut of the footage to know where to go with the story.

The trailer got me excited. I like that they are trying to go in a different direction in the origin story but still. I don't feel excited for this at all. It visually looks stunning, bright and more vivid.. Seeing spidy move on the ceiling and web-slinging is nice. Beyond that, Andrew Garfield seems like the perfect spidy, I only hope the movie is good.

Always happens like that. Writers were hired for Green Lantern 2 months before the film released.

So much CG!!!! It's the Incredible Hulk all over again!

Which was incredible (no pun intended) as fuck.

Loved the trailer. The knife part made me laugh a lot. Love the night shots and I much prefer the new spider man, than Tobey. I also love that he's using the capsules for the web, which means he doesn't unlimited supply and needs to find other ways of getting out of trouble, and not rely so much on the web.

Which means that the plot will conveniently decide that he'll run out of web to raise the stakes during the final battle or something.

I have to admit watching the trailer in 3D with the Avengers looked really nice. Best looking 3D I've seen in a feature film in quite awhile. Most of my problems going in are purely visual so I'm really looking forward to it. The way his origin is shaping up looks pretty awful though.

Getting some responses from laymen's, and they think it looks cool. One thing that comes up is how his eyes are different, they were saying they're either smaller more reflective, making him look like an alien.

No idea why they didn't go with the white lens, tbh.. also, if anything his lenses should've been bigger this time around, but whatever.

Also, speaking of Chameleon, I love this art;

Chameleon deserves a movie for him .... but if you want a villain cameo, SHOCKER is your man !

That dude was MADE for a small villain cameo ! =D

Probably because Peter wasn't acting like an ass-doofus in SM2's scene.

Wich is totaly THE IDEA in the SM3 scene =P

Yeah in SM2 he just looked like an ass-doofus. Seriously tho Douchebag Peter is one of the funniest things I've seen in a movie of this sort.

Forreal. I don't understand the hate for that portion of SM3 at all.

Venom, Sandman and the senile butler? Yeah that was all shit. Saturday Night Fever Parker was amazing though.

Some of the most entertaining scenes in the entire series. And also much better than any other comic book film's attempt at humor (yes, I'm including the Iron Man films and Avengers in here too)

Even though I hate most of what I've seen in the last trailers I hope they nail the humour. The knife line instills some confidence but I remain skeptical.

the fuck am i reading

No reason to shit on great movies for that pile of shit called Spider Man 3.

I'm not shitting on anything, what the hell ARE you reading?

I just said the humor in Spiderman 3 was much better (not the overall film). Hell, the humor in all the Spiderman films is GOAT for the genre. JJJ alone decimates everybody, he's the Hulk.

I wish Spidey was anywhere close to being portrayed as Spidey.

EDIT: J.K Simmons was the perfect Jonah but it's a strange world when Tony Stark is considered to be a greater quipper/ wise cracker than Spidey.

Again going back to the whole Ultimate Comics influence... YES. His role in that universe is just a long running joke and it's hilarious.

Calling the humor in SM3 better than Avengers or Iron Man is kinda shitting on them ;)

I give you SM1 and 2, those were pretty funny even though they were nothing like comic Spidey but SM3 was a mess in every regard. No redeeming factors at all.

What? The final Spidey was a hot mess, but it works brilliantly on the level of being a madcap comedy. Saturday Night Parker was fucking inspired.

You're on a whole different plane of existence, :lol. SM3 comedy the best comic book humor ever? Bwahahaha.

The thing is you laugh AT SM3, not with it.

Disagree. The whole thing is so tongue in cheek that I have to believe everyone involved knew exactly what they were making. Just look at McGuire in the Saturday Night Parker scenes and Franco in EVERY GODDAMN SCENE IN THE WHOLE MOVIE. They were reveling in hamming it up.

I liked the scene with JJJ offering the small girl a job and then buying the cam from her but that's it :(

So predictable to see loads of angry fanboys already shitting on the new origins. First of all, let's wait for the movie to see how it's handled, secondly, people don't know what they want. They say reboot, reaction: already seen it, fuc k it. They try something new here because they HAVE to distance themselves from the original movies, and you complain as well. I'm a huge Spidey fan and I welcome this, be creative, make it different from the Raimi's, give it a chance damn it.

Fricking haters!

That doesn't mean it's a good movie dude. :P

Arnold enjoyed hamming it up in B&R.

It's so weird, but now that I have seen all those trailers, followed every single piece of news on the movie, it's like the Raimi movies never existed, and I'm a fan of those (the third one though, not as much). Tried watching Spidey 2 again today and stopped after 20 min ,I just have all those awesome shots from the last trailer, Garfield as Parker, who looks much more the part than Maguire, the visual look from the new movie and it makes it hard to appreciate the former movies as much.

So excited for TASM!

I really hope for more Spidey quips - and hopefully better ones. The suit isn't as jarring as it was before... I'm actually super hyped for this movie.

To clarify my position, the trailers feel less like a superhero tale and more like a generic Don't Fuck With Mother Nature bioterrorist film.

I think a lot of the "origin story again?" complaints will be tempered by the fact this is not going to be the same origin story as SM1.

Not really (spoilers);
Peter himself is a fuckup of nature, his father created who he is now, this superhuman. So it's basically showing two sides of the same scientific manipulation coin
.

+1. I think the trailer is something very action-packed since that's what people come to expect from a SM movie trailer, but I have a feeling this will be a very good 'people' film as well.

Also, Feige has watched it and said he thinks all the reboot hate will go away when people actually watch it, so we'll see.

[edit];
Q: First off, have you seen The Amazing Spider-Man? I know it’s not your movie.

Kevin Feige: Yes. It’s excellent. It’s not finished, but what I saw was very encouraging and very good. And the whole notion of [I hate that they] “reboot this, that” should go away when people actually see the movie.

So considering the fact that the Lizard will have a more human face to express emotion, how much do you think he'll be talking actually? Or do you think he'll just be roaring and thrashing about all the time?

He'll talk, that's why the director gave him a more human appearance.

Not everyone "hates" on it because it's a reboot. But I guess it's easier to dismiss every dissenting opinion this way.
Well on one level or another, the dislike comes from the fact that it's a reboot, whether you know it or not. And that doesn't mean it's all unjustified, just that it most likely stems back to that point. A lot of people have a bad feeling about this, but I think when we start to see more footage of it, like the clips of Peter and Gwen for example and all that chemistry, more people will swing around to liking it.

I think this trailer is very by-the-books and isn't entirely showing what the movie will be about other than the action..

There's no doubt in my mind that he'll be talking (like in the comics) a lot, otherwise the non-snout approach would've been mostly pointless.

Well I understand that part. Its just my main question was how much will he talk? Are we going to get a lizard speech? Because hopefully the lizarding of Rhys Ifans isn't going to be terrible. I can already hear the loads of hissing now.

The dialogue isn't sounding great. Pretty much every line out of Rhys Ifans' mouth sounds awful in that trailer.

Gosh, you're impossible, do you have an opinion about everything?! You literally say the stupidest things in every single thread. Rhys Ifans is a fantastic actor, and the dialogue isn't bad, it's like when you said that the naturalistic dialogue in the sneak peek was bad, when like everybody else said it was super natural and done well.

You're trying too hard.
