The Amazing Spider-Man TRAILER #2

The Green Goblin costume is not gonna translate well in live action without looking like a silly Halloween costume.

For all the grief the Raimi Power Rangers Goblin got, at least they tried to make the suit real life practical.

Did the organic shooter in the originals sound 'strong'? Sounds the same, tbh, they could have changed it up more, since it's mechanical. I just don't like the LED red flash whenever he shoots a web...

Maybe is flashing red because he is running out of web? I think it would be better if there was some degree of feedback of the web-shooters and the user.

I'm still not a fan of those jaundiced, yellow eyes the Spidey suit has. It's like his liver is failing :P

Aside from that nit-pick, I think it looks pretty cool. Garfield & Stone look great in their respective roles. I'm hoping The Amazing Spider-Man will be this year's X-men: First Class, that movie that everyone thinks will suck but ends up being awesome.

Of all the times it has gone off in the trailer, there wasn't a single time where it didn't flash, so that's probably not it... unless he's always running out. :p

Let's be honest, if you were Spider-Man, you'd be running low on webbing all the time too... :)

So he needs a machine to shoot the web? Can´t he shoot web without the machine?
Spider-Man has always had webshooters, they only changed it in the comics to fit with the movie. And I think I remember hearing the reason why they changed it is that it seemed unrealistic for a teenager to be smart enough to build a machine like that.

no this is Amazing Spiderman he has to invent and build web shooters.

I hate this BTW

if you cant shoot web what makes you spider man? strength? spider sense?

dumb.
But if he really shot web like a spider then it would be coming out slightly above his ass.

Well it doesn't make ANY sense that he'd have webs coming out of his wrists either. That's not where spiders create their webs (if they had wrists).

It's still better than making his own web shooter.
Alright, just gonna throw this out there as an FYI since apparently no one knows this;

Even in the Ult. comics story line/origin, he invents web shooter (using his fathers formula). This isn't something new, Raimi's way was the weird thing back in the day, and people were wishing for mech shooters.

Where does all the web that he shoots come from? Seems like you would need a lot to be swinging around cities.
Liquified capsules or something, iirc.

Aw shit, natural webbing vs mechanical webbing debate

Its like I'm in 2001 all over again...
But back then there was no debate, it was all complaints about how lame and illogical natural web shooters is, and now it's the total opposite, lol.

Looks really good, tbh I couldn't stomach another Tobey Maguire spider man movie. The series absolutely needed a reboot.

I understand 100% I just prefer natural web shooters.

the idea of creating a web shooter is just really dumb to me.

either way the movie looks alright and I hope to hell its better then the last few Spiderman movies.

That's really the only thing bugging me right now. Besides that, I thought the trailer was awesome. :) Love the tone they're going for, love Spider Man being a wise ass. Action looks nice, the shots of Spider Man swinging through the city looked great.

From the little I see of Garfield's Parker, he seems like he'll make a fine Peter Parker. Surprisingly few shots of Spider Man in broad daylight. Looks like a lot of night action.

I really don't see the deal, both seem equally impossible so it's not like it would ground Spiderman more in reality.

A few people in here have said they want to see Kraven The Hunter for the next film, which makes me happy. My idea for a spiderman story was that an old dude who calls himself the Vulture orders Kraven to capture Spiderman so they can analyze his DNA and return the Vulture to his younger self. They capture Spiderman and in a big battle with the Hunter and Vulture he manages to beat the Hunter but Vulture stabs him and sets his own secret lab on fire. A symbiote hiding in one of the moon rocks in the lab attaches itself to Spiderman right as he is about to die. The end.

I'm for mechanical, he can get into sticky situations when he runs out. And yes that Pic would make more sense if he had natural web shooters.

He could also formulate newer and stronger webbing for more powerful enemies. It opens up a whole new avenue for conflicts.

It's a major part of his character. The Raimi movies kinda treated Parker like he was a bit of an idiot. He's one of the most intelligent super heroes there are, and the fact that he's able to invent something like the web-shooter while in high school is a testament to that. It's like if the Iron Man movies didn't portray Tony Stark as a technological genius.

I would love a movie where it starts intensely with Kraven hunting Spider-Man or Peter Parker, like in Casino Royale. But it's not until the very end we hear a voice and a name, which tells us the foe and who ordered Kraven to get Spidey. Would be awesome.

expensive to shoot in the day time, have to shut down streets. This movie had about the same budget as the 2002 spider man till they bumped it up at the end of shooting.

The hell is this "If a real human got spider powers it'd be coming out his ass" people are getting hung up on? If a real human got spider powers it wouldn't matter because it's a comic book, they're making it up. It certainly feels much weirder that he only got some spider powers and had to compensate for the rest, but atleast the trade off is than he seems smarter than luckier.

^This thread has gotten too weird... so gif time;

That's the worst part of the whole trailer, imo. The CG isn't all that, yet, i'm sure it'll get fine tuned.

Hmmm, after seeing the trailer just now, I have to say I don't know if I will see it.
I am not feeling the main actor as Peter Parker, I don't care to hear/read/play/watch Spider-Man's origin for the millionth time, and I don't like the way the costume looks.

I am happy about the webbing not being organic and Peter being portrayed as a genius/smart kid though. And The Lizard being in is pretty cool.
But overall, I can't say I am too interested and I love Spider-Man. For all the faults that I had with the other three movies, I think I rather watch Spider-Man 4 than a reboot.

Lizard doesn't seem to have a snout. Very disappointing. Everything else looks good, not as good as Spiderman 1/2 but I'll go see it.

what is this??

how do you know? ass?? mouth?? hands?

its not real life.

Someone's point that it paints Peter Parker as being an intelligent super hero rather than the mostly brain dead portrayal of the Raimi movies is a good one. Regardless of the anatomical reasons why it's friggin stupid, I think it helps flesh out his character so audiences know more about him.

Looks pretty cool, but they could have just waited for mcguire to be ready for this one. idiots. I dont like the new cast (and by that i mean i dont care who they got)

Ummm, that's not how it works. Read up on what happened to the possibility of a sequel with mcguire in it. If they didn't make this reboot, there wouldn't have been a new SM at all, it wasn't a pick and chose.

Damned straight. Peter Parker is a really intelligent kid, not some average non-entity. I just hope his father's research doesn't give him too much.

If the concept art was any indication, the Raimi/Maguire Spider-Man 4 would have been a Batman & Robin-esque toy commercial.
