The Amazing Spider-Man TRAILER #2

Looks better than expected. The nighttime city visuals are nice, even if the CG is a little too obvious, but it seems like they're going for a slightly darker, more mysterious edge than Raimi's cartoonish approach. I still don't feel the need to see the same origin story over again, but at least it mostly looks like being its own film. Big fan of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone too.

You are a moran.

He actually tried in the comics to do that I believe, but the webbing dissolves roughly an hour after being shot.
I remember this, the guys ended up laughing SM out or something, due to it deteriorating after an hour so, giving it no practical use.

Just realized Lizard doesn't seem to have the white lab coat either. Fucking lame.

No Snout, no lab coat, why? You're gonna CGI the animal anyway why not add snout and a coat? Maybe the coat shows up in the movie eventually who knows. The no-snout head looks silly like Mario Bros movie Goomba.

And I also never understood people wanting a mechanical web shooter instead of organic. Organic makes so much more sense. He has every other spider 'power' why wouldn't you give him web capabilities as well? Why have the character make a machine that does it? I echo the other guy saying it's dumb.

So you are pissed that they AREN'T making the lizard like he is in the comics....Then also pissed because they ARE making Spidey more like he is in the comics?

the slightly yellow eyes outlined in blue is... truly awful.

as for organic webslingers, that stuff is old news, it seems. this is from the official marvel.com description of spider-man:

Note: his power enhancements through his transformation by the Queen and after battling Morlun - including his organic web glands and stingers - have been undone after Spider-Man's deal with Mephisto.

Are those fucking spiderweb cartridges??? (I really hope not)

If so:

In b4 his cartridges run out during a criticial fightscene.

If they are having Oscorp in this movie so heavily (at least according the trailer), then they have to be setting up Green Goblin for the next one and the inevitable
Death of Gwen Stacy
.

I for one, always felt that the Green Goblin in Raimi's spiderman was actually pretty good.

I am happy the little quips from Peter/Spider-man are in it this time, Was angry it was never used a ton in the original 2

Be fair. He "ran out" SM2, even with organic shooters. A crutch of a plot device either way, so let's show some respect to the source material.

And just once I would like to see a superhero movie without a supervillain. Have Spider-Man evade a police force sent to capture/kill him or something. Supervillians are always lame and remove what made the hero unique and intriguing to begin with.

Like in that Hulk movie, the bad guy is an evil Hulk. Or how Iron Man fights other people in suits. It's fucking stupid and comic book writers need better ideas.

Ever watch Superman Returns? No super powered villains, just regular human criminals.

why the fuck are they not putting in Venom, its just ridiculous to me. Everybody knows who Venom and Carnage are and they continually either fuck venom all up (Spiderman 3) or just forget about carnage. They are two of the most iconic villains in Spiderman why the fuck are you ignoring them?

The fuck is this shit.

...Did you watch the trailer?

The consensus is crazy all over the place in this thread, I'm not sure if there's anything anybody hasn't touched on about what they liked/didn't like.

It's still a lot more refreshing than the usual circle-jerks though. We're having actual discussion here as opposed to 'haters gonna hate' in the usual threads

Yeah, and I saw Spider-Man fight a giant lizard man. The Spider-Man vs police subplot is gonna go nowhere and be featured in a handful of scenes, probably.

Just imagine an entire movie dedicated to Spider-Man attempting to survive the full force of the NYPD and SWAT teams dedicated to finding and killing him. It would be awesome and could provide tons of great moments. You better believe SWAT would have crazy traps and ways to find him.

If Lex Luthor, with his plan to make a Kryptonian continent, is not a super-villain..then I don't know what is. Unless you mean actual "super powers", but then you'd end up discounting some of the best foes.

Fucking Love Superman Returns

Plane Sequence says Hi

I don't think I will ever Understand the amount of hate that movie receives. I still watch it, and I still love it.

If you don't want him to fight someone with superpower then Spiderman can take on the criminal underground and their leader:

Did you ever see Donner's Superman? That's why. SR isn't so much a movie as it is 2.5 hours of wanking to Donner's movie.

Spidey half way serious could take on the NYPD and SWAT departments while sick with the flu and not break a sweat. Hell has in the comics.

Yeah it's a 3 hour homage haha. Got old pretty quick. The best thing about it is the teaser (which also borrows heavily from the Donner flick)

Yes I have seen both the original superman as well as the "donner" cut of superman 2 that came out recently. I love them both

Guess that must be why I like Superman Returns so much

But like I said eariler, even if you hate the movie with a passion, the plane sequence is still damn good.

I could see them doing Ultimate Venom in a third movie, especially if Oscorp is going to become a story thread in these movies.

Who cares? That's in the comic books. Every superhero is overpowered as fuck in comic books. Thank god the movies reign in the characters' abilities somewhat, or else we'd have to watch the Hulk push apart two continents or see Magneto create force fields and have control of metals on the atomic level.

Having Carnage in an R rated Spiderman movie would be fucking amazing. You guys harping on the character would take that back if we were allowed to see the psychotic shit he would do in such a movie. Venom is great too but they didn't do him justice in part 3.

Biological web shooters are a great cop-out for filmmakers who don't want to expand on Parker's intelligence.

It's much worse to say 'here's something complex Parker invented, he's totally smart' and then never reference his intelligence again (I don't know if the film will do this but just saying). How about having organic webs, which makes much more sense, while showing how smart he is in other ways?

Proportionate strength, speed and agility of a spider, spider-sense, wall-crawling... come on now.

The fact that he has all of these but not organic webs is why it's dumb and makes no sense.

So you are pissed that they AREN'T making the lizard like he is in the comics....Then also pissed because they ARE making Spidey more like he is in the comics?

The comics aren't infallible, keep what makes sense and get rid of what doesn't. Organic webs make sense, a shitty looking naked Goomba lizard doesn't (well the naked part does make sense, but the lab coat is iconic for the character anyway so it's worth keeping).

BTW I know it sounds like I'm raging about this but I'm not. I don't really care as long as the movie is good but I felt like the argument for mechanical is weak and just wanted to play devils advocate for a bit. I do think organic is better but it's not that serious.

Same here. I know why people hate it and the movie certainly has a lot of problems but for me the good outweigh the bad. It's a shame Singer wasn't given a chance for a sequel.

Best teaser trailer ever.

EDIT:

Link for those who've never seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSsYSqg6AtA

I get goosebumps EVERY time I see it. This trailer alone will be better than Snyder's inevitable shitty trainwreck and it really sucks that the planet krypton track likely won't be in the reboot.

And we are poorer for it.

I don't think you understand how amazing what you just described would be.

@Angry Fork:

So where is he shooting this web from? What's the purpose? Actually, what does biological webbing do that makes the movie any better?

Trailer looks great.

I'm just not sure why this franchise needed a reboot already. I understand for something like The Hulk, but the Raimi trilogy was massively successful (even if the third one sucked)... well maybe that's the reason why.
