The Amazing Spider-Man TRAILER #2

The Lizard is a good villain, the only issue is whether the artists and special effects people are able to make a realistic looking version of him. You would think that after three spiderman movies each making over 800 million dollars that Sony would pull out all the stops to make sure that this film looks incredible but it seems like initially they had a smaller budget and later decided to increase it.

I have 2 requests if anyone would be so kind-

-Could someone post a 1080p DL link? For whatever reason, I can never get it to work from Apple trailers.

-From the 1080p trailer can anyone grab se good screen caps of the Lizard?

Posted a bunch of screen caps earlier, there are some clear shots of Liz in there.

Patching a suit up is magic?
Well when a monster is on the loose.... and you have school... and a girlfriend... and trying to hide your super powers from family... yes?

See, I cant get that DL link to work for me from any of my browsers. I click the 1080p link and literally nothing happens. =/

Thanks for the screen-caps link though!

Do you have Quicktime on your computer? It opens it up in QT. I wait for it all to load up, then export the video (takes a minute or two), and that's that.

I would re-host it somewhere for you, but it's a 187MB file and i'm on 3G. :p

kind of stupid that they give away who the lizard is in the trailer.
lol. wait is this a joke?

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant. It would seem from the middle of the movie on, it takes place over the course of maybe 2-3 days? He wouldn't have the time to sit there and make a new suit with all the chaos going on around him.

I like how this runs parallel to the Lizard being the first villain featured in the pilot of TAS. I know GAF hates it, but I fucking loved that show.

Yup, I have it downloaded. Hm. You know what, I bet I can copy link address and paste it into quicktime.
Ok, yup, that works. Still weird it doesn't open when I click it though.

its not a joke not everyone knows who Dr. Connors is. think outside the gaf/comic box.

It's actually Harry Osborn.

Which leads in to Norman Osborn being the villain in the sequel.

If Batman can beat Killer Croc, why would Spider-Man have trouble? And I know they're both DC, but why is Killer Croc in this movie? Should have went with a classic Spider-Man villain like Mysterio the Riddler.

Dont understand why they couldnt just use makeup. The way they have him now, he has to be all cg all the time which can be shit to look at if not done correctly. Does he HAVE to be the big and imposing? Such a strange decision.

Well I for one am glad that it reveals nothing about the Parkers that we actually know from the 616 or Ultimate versions, and that this untold tale is actually just a different made-up story made just for this movie

The trailer looks really good. The "power-up" webshooters seem interesting, too.

Trailer looks great.

I'm just not sure why this franchise needed a reboot already. I understand for something like The Hulk, but the Raimi trilogy was massively successful (even if the third one sucked)... well maybe that's the reason why.

If Sony doesn't keep making Spidey movies, the license reverts back to Marvel. So basically, they are making this to ensure that they hold the license. At least that's the way I seem to understand it.

It'll be great when Peter's parents come back as LMDs in the sequel.

Seriously? Dude, that would have looked really shitty, imo. He's a destructive force, one way or another, and having a a man sized thing tearing up the city seems weird.

Plus, wouldn't that have been more expensive/taken more time? This flick has been in a rush to begin with.

Well actually, a bit about his parents seems to be from the Ult. side. At least the part about his father working with Doctor Connors on something revolutionary that could save lives.

In the Ult. SM though, that ended up producing Venom, so that's different already.

How many years without a Sony Spidey movie has to pass until the rights revert back to Marvel?
I'm just interested in that clause.

The red light thing is a bit confusing. Initially I was thinking it was like a brake disc heating up. It constantly spinning the formula on his wrist and pressing the button hits the brake for it to shoot out. But that wouldn't make sense, besides the red light is active at rest.

Fun trivia: The idea for organic web shooters in the last trilogy came from James Cameron's treatment.

I read the scriptment. It oddly enough would be exactly what the studio is looking for in this day and age.

A dark Spider-Man film?! It wouldn't work, they say. But look at the latest trailer for the Amazing Spider-Man. Dark, rainy, and full of gloom.

Gone are the days of the bright streets of Raimi's Spider-Man.

Why does GAF hate it? It is a pretty good show all things considered. That scene with the Lizard and Spiderman in the water is also in the first episode of TAS when Spiderman follows him into the sewers and they fight underwater.

I agree that a mix of practical/CG would have been better as we ended up getting this-

I mean, don't get me wrong, the Lizard wouldn't work without using CG, but looking at that face makes me wonder why not go mostly practical, at least for the head. Im just not digging his head as it is, and Im afraid that having it be all CG and human like will just be awkward.

I'm pretty sure it's 5 years. It's why there was such a short turn around between the cancellation of Spidey 4 and the announcement of this one.

I doubt it even matters because they will almost certainly put out a Spidey movie often enough to keep it forever.

It's not if it matters, it's about me being interesting in how many years it is.
I want Sony keep making Spidey movies and many more reboots will be okay with me, but I'm just interested in the contractual details.

I would kill for a Spider-Man noir film BTW.
