Really? is tehre a source to this?jlevel13 said:Typical kotaku. It's weird, but certainly a mistake. EA store probably had a default date in the store system for 9/9/10 12:00 and nobody caught it. Game isn't out, just a website mistake (would love to be wrong though).
It was not only kotaku. I put it in the basket and ordered it. However, I did not get a confirmation or similar.jlevel13 said:Typical kotaku. It's weird, but certainly a mistake. http://www.gamerzines.com/pc/news/battlefield-1943-pc-released.htmlUpdate: Unfortunately Battlefield 1943's appearance on the EA Store was actually an error according to a recent tweet from the publisher:
"BF 1943 PC is not available. This is an error on EA store. We are working to sort it out," explained BF1943's official twitter feed.
bullets take time to travel, so if someone is far away and moving, you have to aim in front of them.tc farks said:Did anyone else just jump into this game because of the EA sale?
My first impression of the game was pretty simple (never played a Battlefield), its awesome and I loved the scale of the battle. In my 1st match it took me a while before I realized I had to get on a boat and drive it inland. I jumped in and out a couple times and then started swimming and I was like theres no way, so my 3rd try resulted in embarassingly easy success. As soon as I got out on the beach I was shot dead. That sucked, but things improved. I was getting some sniping kills rather easily. The shooting feels a tad bit off to me. I feel that quite often I have my crosshairs on a guy and shoot, but miss. And I have played countless hours on FPS online. I'm standing still when I shoot too. Also, I can barely fly that damn plane.
The gameplay was great, I was shooting guys out of vehicles. I ran up and threw some c4 on the back of a tank before running away and detonating the charge. I got in an epic knife duel between another sniper, who was as willing as I to forget about guns for a while. I almost captured my 1st flag...before a bomb was dropped on me.
In summation, what a great XBLA game. I'm not surprised it sold so well. I suck right now, but I'll be putting in a lot of hours into a game I only had to pay 600 points for. Thanks to alerting me to the EA sale GAF. I hope to see some of you guys online.
I got it for 360 with BC2. And I always find a full game very fast.Ledsen said:So does this game still see a lot of activity? I'm also thinking of jumping in because of the sale.
The game is still quite active on PSN (I still play regularly as well). No problem jumping in and finding full matches. What do you mean by EA support? If you mean like DLC and map packs then no they hasn't been anything added since launch besides the plane-only map after the kill goal was reached.FunkyPajamas said:Is this game still being played on PSN? Favorite shooter of PS3, wish they'd port it over to PS4 and sell it for $10.
Holy blast from the past.
Never understood why they didnt release some dlc for this, they could have made lots of money

yep.
also, it seems like the game was a commercial success, they sold 600K copies in just two weeks → http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=369052 I don't understand why they dropped support for it.
Such a simple concept, yet so few games practice it these days.Loved this game especially the fact that everything was already unlocked and you could just play and have fun like a normal person instead of grinding for hundreds of hours for a red dot scope.

btw, BF: BC1 is coming to Xbox BC program, so I think there's a chance that BF1943 will be available too.Great game. I hope we will get it on Xbox bc soon!
The point of the game was to get more people into Battlefield via a low cost product as promotion for the upcoming Bad Company 2.
It worked as BC2 outsold BC1 by a large margin.
Random thing: The head of the game asked on UK EA forums for trailer ideas for 1943 and he used mine in the Wake Island trailer.

Wait really? Maybe more people will play it online again.
