Kazuma Kiryu is better than your favorite videogame character no matter the race.

He can sing

Has an eye for talent and is big in real estate

Really great with the kids

and much more. Most videogame characters aren't even half as talented as this man.

Absolutely fell in love with this guy playing through Yakuzer 0. Kiryu was great too but every time his sections came back up I found myself trying to speed through them to get back to Majima's sections.

Came here expecting Yakuza love, I'm proud of seeing a lot

I really liked a lot of the characters from 2017 Prey.

There's the main character, Morgan Yu, who is half Chinese half German.

Morgan's older brother, Alex Yu, is a really interesting character.
He's kind of an antagonist, kind of not. He's been trying to help Morgan all along, but is misunderstood because of the circumstances. Helping Alex in the end gives the player the better ending.

I also really liked how the romance between Danielle Sho and Abigail Foy (both are Asian, but there aren't any good pictures of them) was presented.
Danielle is the chief archivist of the station - she's straight-laced as they come, and takes her job seriously. Abigail's a lot more carefree and messy. She's also a total nerd who plays D&D and reads trashy fantasy novels. The way the two interact is so heartwarming - Abigail drags Danielle to her D&D sessions and gets her to read those trashy novels (Abigail has a copy of volume 5 of a specific series; you find volume 1 in Danielle's room). After sending out a station-wide email reminding personnel to never write their passwords down, Danielle finds a sticky note under Abigail's desk that contains her password and lectures her. The game does a fantastic job of making them feel like real characters.

Yeah, was going to mention this too. Her mechanical engineering degree sure turned out handy.

Came to post this,Morgan and Alex are awesome.
I didn't know they were half german though.

So OP, you start this thread and use an Asian nick name and avatar and yet you don't know what or where Asia is? smh.

Anyway...

Rashid from Street Fighter V:

Mitsurugi from SoulCalibur (aged 22, 29, and 46):

Tekken has way too many good ones. My favorites are Law, Lee, Lei, and Hwoarang.

Agreed. Classic Faith much better than Reboot Faith in terms of personality. I kind of like the design of Reboot Faith a little more though (although I miss those awesome comic cut scenes).
I'm kinda the opposite. I prefer classic Faith's less realistic design and reboot Faith's more realistic depiction.

plus, Asian~Canadian, which is extremely rare if not the only one in gaming.
Knives Chau was playable in the Scott Pilgrim game.

Fuck right off, Karen was awesome. Don't just hate because Mirei died pathetically and nobody even noticed.

You are the only one in existence to care ;D

As for the continents mix up, I was awake for 25+ hours. Excuse me.

(also the name isn't necessarily Asian)

So I forgot about Rouge from PowerStone.

Came here to post Yakuza characters.... See that others have already done it before me so I leave satisfied.

I will go with Wei Shen as well. He just oozes style and I really loved his character development in Sleeping Dogs. Square needs to give us a sequel, I've bought the original twice!

There's something admirably simple about Ryo that sums up Shenmue being about an extraordinary story in an ordinary world.

Despite his revenge quest, he also likes to play with kittens, collect capsule toys, and goof off in the arcades playing video games. For an otherwise cold, laser-focused character, there's a pretty genuine and endearing human warmth to the fact he has kinda childish hobbies. Just reminds you he's really just a boy trying to be a man.

The series isn't afraid to knock Ryo down a few pegs either. In the original Shenmue he did a few "badass" things, but the sequel makes it clear Ryo was just a big fish in a small pond, and Hong Kong is a whale threatening to swallow him up. That's just more interesting to me than a character constantly being put on a pedestal.

In fact, most of his character arc in Shenmue II is breaking the hard-headed, impulsive, assholeish Ryo from the first game and rebuilding him as a calmer, more thoughtful iteration.

Unless of course, OP's definition is what you can find under the Asian subcategory in a porn website.

LOL, you'd be surprised how many people I know who subscribe to that definition.

Middle East is continental Asia, but not what people means when they say "Asian", and funnily enough most of the posts assumed/went-with East Asian anyway because Asian in the vernacular often ignores South/SE Asia, as well as Slavic/Mongolian Asia. Not anyone's fault, really, just a Thing.

I can tell you first hand that this way of thought is way too widespread in America, and it's really bothersome (to me at least). I've had people at my last job tell me I wasn't Asian, because I'm Indian, and not Chinese/Japanese/East Asian

This reminds me, I really need to play Power Stone again.

...I was half kidding but it seems that some DO still think south asians/middle easterns aren't really asians.

but it's ok OP, you learnt something today!

I still dont understand excluding 2D/anime characters to stop a waifu war though. Just ask those who do to stop, there are plenty of great characters with 2D/anime-esque designs.

It's akin to a certain president banning people of a certain religion because of a few bad eggs.

Really, it's because I work with SAs who... Well I'venever spoken to any Iranian who said they were "asian" or heard anyone say that. So I always thought... Actually I never thought. Middle Eastern is a US term I let slip into my subconscious.

As a kid, because I'm Syrian I always marked myself down as "Asian" on standardized tests and shit before finding out we're apparently White. It's confusing and really dumb imo.

I was gonna be cute and put Shaheen saying that the Middle East is in Asia but decided not to lol.

Edit - My understanding as an Arab is that Middle Easterners are Middle Easterners, not necessarily "Asian", just "from Asia". Idk. It's stupid and I just wanna be called Arab, not Asian and I sure as fuck ain't White.

I think the first Assassin's Creed is literally the only game where the lead character is Syrian so it's still my favorite out of all of them.
