The "orange" and "brown" squares in the middle of the the top and side cube faces are in fact identical in colour
they are both brown... (use a colour inspector to prove it)

Loved Magic Eye as a kid!

_c277143_image_0.jpg

During our last family get together I showed a bunch of these to my family members all of varying ages, and I was the only one that is able to see the images no matter how hard everybody tried. My father could sometimes, but everybody else couldn't at all. In fact my sister was convinced I was lying and there weren't anything in the pictures.

It's weird how these things work differently for people. It's so easy for me.

It never worked for me as a kid. As a grew older it became easier. I was able to see it in seconds. I'm convinced I have an easier time seeing it on a monitor.

There was a radiolab episode about people who run a small voltage through their head and out their arm for extra brainpower, and with the current on, the reporter was able to concentrate and pop the stereograms pop one after another, rapid fire.

Of course they are researching it in the army because it makes marksmen a much better shot under pressure - including another reporter who played a simulation of a checkpoint under attack.

And students are playing with it to cram exams etc although there are sometimes some very odd side effects.

I'm colorblind, especially with brown/red/orange. I'm doubly fucked looking at this thing.

The Magic Eye is sharks. Scary! That's cool I never used Magic Eye on the interwebs before =D
I have a cataract in my right eye so it's weird I can do those so well

I have no idea what I'm looking at here. I just see patterns. I should mention that I'm on mobile so the small screen may be the reason I don't see anything.

It works on mobile.

You have to unfocus and 'look through' them, so the repeated patterns line up. You can do it by going cross-eyed as well, but it will invert the 3D.

There's 2 sharks and a rock/cave thing. Honestly!

Plz someone tell what I'm supposed to see

Two sharks (top middle, bottom left), and some sort of plant growth on the bottom right.

The way to see magic eyes is to cross your eyes slowly and align the pattern between the two images until they overlap. The image should be visible. But I have an easy time crossing my eyes.

Shit, there's two ways to look at it? I see it like a diorama.

A shark, and then some weird shit in the lower right

It's 4 sharks. 1 in the center, two far away ones in the lower middle, and then a close up one at the bottom.

edit: Oh, it's supposed to be coral at the bottom? :p
These things were always awful. You're supposed to make the the objects "Stick out" but I can't get that to work so I do the incorrect method where they 'bow in' like a relief.

My eyes are broken to Magic Eye. I cannot see them pop out, I can only see them convex inward. I have to make my eyes semi cross eyed to do it, but that is the only way I can see anything in them.

Yeah - you're not really supposed to cross your eyes but to continue to look straight ahead (through the image, not at it) as you get closer to it. I guess crossing your eyes makes the two images overlap but in reverse.

I don't see it.

You have to pretend that you're trying to look through the picture at something in the distance, like looking through a window. You'll start to see the pattern shift sideways as your eyes change focus, when the pattern overlaps then the 3D image appears.
