1. Schindler's List
2. Close Encounters
3. Raiders
4. Duel
5. E.T.
6. Saving Private Ryan
7. Ju Ju Park
8. Jaws
9. Temple of Doom
10. Last Crusade
11. AI
12. Catch Me If You Can
13. Minority Report
14. Hook

... can't make it to 15 as there are a number I haven't seen, but bad apples are:

War of the Worlds
Crystal Skull

I think Spielberg is at his best when he balances his schlock with his inner filmmaker.

I think that's why Hook succeeds and why most people like it.

It's a fun retelling of a familiar tale, it has some "don't take yourself too seriously" wisdom, and has a core of filial piety at the center of it.

Jaws
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Munich
Schindler's List
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Empire of the Sun
ET
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Saving Private Ryan
Jurassic Park

Bottom Two:
The Terminal
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

These are my personal favorites. I'm no cinefile or wannabe critic, but if I was told I could only take a few Spielberg films with me, these are my choices:

Close Encounters of the Third Kind
The Color Purple
ET
Saving Private Ryan
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Jaws

Films like Schindler's List and Munich are EXCELLENT thought provoking movies, but to me, they do not have much re-watch value.

These are just bad, and if I never see them again, I'm okay with it:

Jurassic Park 2 The Lost World
Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls

god tier bolded, everything else is pretty much on par for me. come at me bros

1. E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial
2. Schindler's List
3. Jurassic Park
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark
5. Minority Report
6. Catch Me If You Can
7. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
8. Jaws
9. The Lost World: Jurassic Park
10. Saving Private Ryan
11. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

12. The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn

1. Munich
2. Schindler's List
3. Jurassic Park
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark
5. Saving Private Ryan
6. Minority Report
7. A.I.
8. The Temple of Doom
9. Empire of the Sun
10. Jaws

What an amazing director. Still things from him I haven't listed.

The Terminal is an incredibly underrated film. Nowhere near enough love for that one.

Minority Report is great, but I hated the random Indiana Jones scene in it. The whole car assembly line thing. Very out of place in that movie.

One of the Bergs biggest flaws as a filmmaker. He pulled the same shit in AI. Tonally, the movie is all over the place. Rouge City, Flesh Fair. An AI Chris Rock and a hologram of Robin Williams? Shameful. The first hour of AI feels like Kubrick, the rest feels like the worst of Spielberg

1. Close Encounters with the Third Kind
2. Shindler's list
3. A.I.
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark
5. E.T.

I dont see the point in taking away points from the few bad films he's made, as no human being would put those movies at the top of a greatest Spielberg films list.

Only ranking the ones I've seen:

1. Jaws
2. Munich
3. Raiders of the Lost Ark
4. Jurassic Park
5. Hook
6. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Hard to say since none of his movies are great great. But very good.

That's what I realized when reading this thread. He's made a lot of good movies, but nothing that touches on great great. Personally, I believe A.I. being one of his most ambitious films in terms of scope.

1. Halloween
2. The Thing
3. Prince Of Darkness
4. In The Mouth Of Madness
5. Big Trouble In Little China

No Assault on Precinct 13 or Escape from NY? I thought you were cool, Solo

Anyway, my list would be....

1. Jaws - Pretty much fuckin' perfect.
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. E.T.
4. Schindler's List
5. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
6. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade(Raiders is the best, but LC may be my favorite)
7. A.I. Artificial Intelligence
8. Catch Me If You Can
9. Minority Report
10. Munich
12. Empire of the Sun
12. Jurassic Park
13. Saving Private Ryan(Don't like this one as much anymore)
14. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
15. War of the Worlds

Two Bad
1. Hook(absolutely dreadful, the king of schmaltzy sentimental stupid piece of shit that Spielberg's critics have been riding him about forever)
2. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull(Fuck this movie)

Just look at that opening quartet. Does any living director even come close?

One of the Bergs biggest flaws as a filmmaker. He pulled the same shit in AI. Tonally, the movie is all over the place. Rouge City, Flesh Fair. An AI Chris Rock and a hologram of Robin Williams? Shameful. The first hour of AI feels like Kubrick, the rest feels like the worst of Spielberg

how dare he add somethin interestin...And most people would say the worst of Spielberg was the overly emotional stuff and the sappy end rather than the flesh fair

Tough one. I love his work. Definitely a tie between Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, and the first and third Indiana Jones.

I've never seen Munich, ET or Close Encounters.

1. Raiders
2. Last Crusade
3. Jaws
4. SPR
5. Minority Report

1. War of the Worlds
2. War Horse

1- Jurassic Park
2- JAWS
3- War of the Worlds
4- Indies (except for that Cryst.....uurrrghh..)
5- Saving Private Ryan

You know I realize, while he's a good director. Most of Spielberg movies are mediocre.
