But it's something natural and part of everyday life for young girls. No where near compared to children having sex at such a young age. It's just a change your body goes through. It's not like the commercial is sexualizing it.kids also have sex when they're 13/14 but we don't portray it as part of a marketing scheme.

Sounds unhealthy to me. Some 12-year-old preteens get their periods. They put tampons in their vaginas to absorb the blood. Should they not be allowed to discuss it lest people get offended when hearing perfectly anatomically correct vocabulary?

Maybe it's because I have a little sister or whatever, but this ad doesn't weird me out in the slightest. And I think the people who are weirded out by it are immature as all hell. Grow up. This shit is real and just another part of life.

Why does it have to be a public discussion? Seems like a very private matter. Is there some issue that needs to be addressed?

Pubescent boys talk about their privates all the time around other boys, and for virtually no reason ("lol balls").
Pubescent girls also talk about their privates around other girls, and for good reason. They're having to deal with blood and pain and all sorts of fun stuff.

i don't think getting weirded out because you're not used to see this kind of stuff on TV, and being offended, are the same thing.
Some people are weirded out about it, and it's obvious why (otherwise the ad creators wouldn't be going for a little shock/honesty factor with this) that doesn't mean they're offended by it or don't think it's natural or right.

Anyway, kind of playing Devil's advocate there, i thought it was a clever idea that missed the right comedy beats, by going on for too long.
What has that to do with comedy timing?It's a video for the internet, not a TV commercial, so I can understand it being a bit longer. Is our collective attention span too intolerant of a 1m47s video now?

The point is to destigmatize it and make the ordeal funny rather than that dark secret you need to hide from everyone.

I doubt an English actress (who is making it big on GOT) would appear in a random American tampon ad. That was my point.
