The bestest alternative version games?

I've played it on 360, I remember people being divided on which version was better. Are the daytime stages in the Wii release as good as the HD versions?

No, but the Wii/PS2 version inadvertently removed a lot of the filler by cutting out the hub worlds and Tails minigames, changing the way the sun/moon medal unlocks work, etc so a lot of the tedium is gone. The final boss is also different between both versions and better on Wii U.

Basically what he said. The Wii version cut a bunch of filler that was bogging the game down on PS3 and 360.

The Game Boy Bionic Commando game doesn't have exploding Hitler but the levels and controls are much better than those of the NES game.

I agree... depending on which version you're talking about. The original one was bad but the color version was Bionic Commando: Elite Forces and I think it's one of the best in the series.

I even hear Daikatana was pretty good on the GameBoy color but that was nothing like the FPS version.

Out of the three versions (Psx, Gameboy Color and N64) Carmageddon Psx was the only playable version (and by far, the most enjoyable)

Also, not sure if it counts, but I remember the GameBoy Color versions of the first couple Harry Potter games being much better than the console versions.

I can confirm this. Got The Sorcerer's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets for Game Boy Color and they played like awesome though simplified JRPGs. Went through the several times since I loved them as a kid. Also got the PC versions of the same games at the time and they had nothing on the Game Boy Color games. They were bland platformers at best.

Doom 64 is a whole new game that is not a port of Doom or Doom 2. I'm not sure if it's better, but I sure enjoyed playing it.

Spider Man: Web Of Shadows.
For Nintendo DS.
Instead of making it a cheesy stylish action game, they instead turned it into a cool metrovania where each form was vastly different.

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time SNES version

I just bought the SFamicom version yesterday. Never knew the cover was so different for Japan. I fully agree with you on the version being the best.
