Really the first 3 movies are really good, with the first 2 being crazy influential in scifi and gaming for years to come.

Even with the movies being so old now the effects hold up well.

I guess this is also why movies like Prometheus was such a disappointment, because of the pedigree that it had to follow.

Glaring plot holes aside, I'm pretty sure people would not have been as hard on Prometheus if Scott had not try to connect it to the Alien franchise.

The movie is 28 years old. It's not surprising that people aged in the interim. I guess having such vivid images of what they looked like so long ago causes people to freak out when they see them as they are now. They all look appropriate for their ages. Michael Beihn is a bit thin, maybe.

IRC, Michael Biehn had a lot of problems with alcohol and drug abuse which has contributed to how badly he has aged. Bill Paxton has aged well in general and does not look like he is only a year away from 60.
