The Crew 2 announced; more details soon

Yo, ok, I'm into it. Best dead genre.

I hope the handling is more tied to a consistent driving model instead of the player progression, this time around. Fewer filler events, too.

Fuck yes. This news has made me so happy. I was hoping for an E3 announcement anyway.

Take a Fullstock Bentley set to Sine Radio on a 100 plus mile Freedrive Challenge across one of the best open-world maps ever created.

I've played this game loads and still, depending on conditions, it reveals something new. I can't think of an open-world as expansive and as characterful as The Crew's. Sure, it technically lacking but it still shows incredible beauty because the whole map seems to have been created with love. Most of the roads are brilliantly crafted and set. To me The Crew is a 21st century OutRun. Fork to the left or right and be somewhere entirely different. It's seriously impressive, magical at times and really, really soothing.

One of the games of this generation for me...and that's just the driving about.

My god...YES!!!

Heavier focus on driving physics and get rid of those challenges that litter every single road - it slows down the gameplay.

So glad I passed on Crew 1 but that it sold well enough to warrant a sequel. This is absolutely on my radar. Let's see that game play and physics

I really wanted to love the first one, a racing game with a huge world and tons of content and upgrades sounded so good, but the car handling has kept me away every time I've tried to get into it.

Give this sequel much better, arcade-y driving feel and it could be one of my favorite racers (make drifting more like Burnout or something and not the heavy, slow feel like it had in Crew 1).

Also needs to look way better, Crew 1 even after it got a graphical update was one if the worst looking racing games released this generation.

The first one was fucking terrible before the DLC and it's still not all that now. If they can make the handling model even slightly decent, and get rid of the awful story/cutscene crap I might give this a look.

Nice! Looking forward to it, love the original. My only complaint was Calling All Units was such a limb expansion. They boosted the level cap but didn't add enough interesting content to make me want to hit it. I will eventually though, but grinding these chases isn't exactly that much fun.

Calling All Units was complete garbage.

Yes, Driveclub was a gem too. But there are so many more racing games to look forward to this year that satisfy a similar itch!

But none that will ever look as beautiful as Driveclub, it was the best looking game this generation.

The game was broken for months, not surprised.

I know, and it was frustrating. It was text book of how not to launch a game, but man its still unrivaled when it comes to looks.

I am very excited for this.. first game had its issues but was super fun once you got past the initial learning curve.

Excited to hear some details..

Oh boy. Lots of potential here.
Remember that The Crew was a cross-gen game. A sequel built using Ubisoft's current open-world techniques is gonna be visually astounding.

Hopefully they figure out how to make a good first impression this time around. Improving the default handling and fixing the tutorial would be a good start.

Was? It still is. It looks insanely good in photo mode. Like nothing even comes close to it, not even the best PR Gran Turismo shots. Evolution set the bar on graphical fidelity on a frickin launch game which hasn't been passed 3-4 years later. Pretty impressive when you think about it.

30fps makes it look kinda bad when you're driving fast though, compared to games going for higher framerates I mean, it's both blurry and stuttery which isn't exactly ideal from my point of view.
Where has the devs gone after the close down? A multiplat racer from those guys with a PC version able of hitting 60+fps on triple screens with the right hardware would be sooooo awesome!! :)

so is Ubi having an e3 conference or are they shooting their load off early?

Otherwise whats the point of the conference.
