What I would really like from The Crew is basically a new Test Drive Unlimited. That was mostly what I got with the open world, which is great. The story is forced down your throat (from what I played) and frankly, I don't care about the story in a driving game (and Ubisoft's stories are generally not that great). The handling felt a bit off, but I didn't get to play it that much. I remain positive however.
 
Typical Ubisoft fail. Was sent a "PS4" code according to the email. Is actually an Xbox One code.

So I'm now downloading the XB1 version.
 
Put a few hours into it.

So far I am loving it, the map is surely one of the best maps ever created hands down, it really is that good. Seems like there is also plenty of content.

Biggest issue is the always online component though, already been disconnected once and not sure how many times I will be.

Graphics and handling aren't great either but neither is honestly bad enough to put me off the game completely and apparently the handling improves with better more nodded cars anyway.

So far so good and I will still be getting this at launch.
 
I have played the PC beta and I found it rather mixed. The map is huge - but a lot of it is rather dull, and some bits aren't really accessible either.

The graphical quality was very varied too. Some of the map looked gorgeous. Some looked like something from ten years ago.

Am definitely interested in seeing it on console though. So that's why I'm downloading the XB1 version now.

Here's what they have to say about that
Graphics
Anti-aliasing improvement.
Slight upgrade of the overall graphics.

Online
VOIP changes: Players are now able to talk to members of their crew only. To talk to other players they have to be added to the crew, even if they are in your friend list.
Global improvement of the sessionning system in freeride.

UI
The size of several elements of the UI has been tuned. Names of friends and in the session are now much more visible and easy to read.

Gameplay
Handling:
The sensitivity of the handling has been tuned and improved for all the driving modes (All help, Sport and Hardcore).
The heaviness of the vehicles has been tuned for a better feeling.
Increase of the collision stability with dynamic and static objects.
Adjustment of the impact of destructible items on cars (speed reduction when destroying an object).

The team also fixed over 2700 bugs since the last closed beta and many other modifications and improvements have been made to the game.

What I noticed in the earlier beta is the graphics in the place you start are awful but drive around New York at night time or drive through snowy towns during the day and it looks great.
Be interesting see if there is any improvement in the graphics.

if anyone wants PS4 codes (idk if region makes a difference, but I applied for EU), played the first test for 10 minutes before I wanted to gouge my eyes out..god damn this game looked ugly and jagged..not wasting any of my download cap for this.

Hmm.

I got the UK XBox email a couple of days ago saying keep my eye out for an email with a code but no email yet.

Any UK XBoxers got their codes yet?
