The Crew Wild Run |OT| Never Drive Alone

I don't have a solution for the connection issue, but I did a search and someone on the official forums said opening ports 43210 and 43211 might help, but no promises. I've never had the issue myself, but it seems to be common on the Xbone; when you say wide open does that mean you have DMZ enabled?

For the summit events, it will show the description on the screen when you select the race. Currently, there are some events that restrict your selection to Italian cars, so it just says "Italy" in the description. If you don't own one, it will provide you something. Other events are completely locked to a specific car and those will say something like "Provided Vehicle" instead.

The parts situation is handled a bit oddly. When you send a part to your HQ, it will be there for only that spec on that specific car. If you were to buy a different car and put it into the same spec, the parts won't be in the HQ, but you may purchase those discovered parts for that specific spec from the tuner. It can get expensive to max out new cars if you buy your parts this way to avoid grinding each car.

The levels of the tuners' starting kits correspond with the levels of the parts they start you with. A level 10 kit will provide bronze level 10 parts for everything in your car, level 20 will provide bronze level 20 parts, and so on. If you plan to purchase previously unlocked parts in the tuner for your new car, buy the cheapest starter kit since you'll just be replacing the parts anyway.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, I think that makes sense.

So, for the parts you win, they are only for that car in that particular class, however, the parts you win allow them to be purchased in the tuner for other cars and classes?

When I bought my Mini Cooper I bought a couple of parts at the tuner. I thought these were the parts I unlocked previously for my stock ride?

So I picked up The Crew + Season Pass when the microsoft store had that pricing error for a bit ($20 for Xbox One). Been enjoying it for the most part, I like forgiving arcadey racers.

BUT, I just tried this Xfinity Speed Challenge or whatever about a dozen times before quitting in disgust. I mean WTF is this garbage. I'll be way out ahead for most of the race, then the pack will rubber band in right behind me once we get into the city. The last leg is seriously heavy traffic and one tiny mistake means you lose the race (lost a few times when I didn't even fuck up). The AI cars just clip right through traffic and the L pylons, meanwhile you will crash out because you are going 150+ MPH for that entire stretch.

I mean did Xfinity specify that they wanted a branded race that fucks you over because that's the Xfinity way? Christ.

E: Also the 'crash the other driver' missions universally suck. They are already the Assassin's Creed tail missions of this game and I've only had to do 3 4 5.

Man, that's a bummer for you.

I fucking love this game.

Took my starting Nissan from start to finish and own every spec for it.

Almost platinumed all the skill challenges and missions. I'm straight wrecking online against lambos n shit.

Also, adjust your gameplay settings if rubberbanding is an issue for you.

Hardcore handling is the way to go, otherwise the game is too dumbed down and the AI ups the "challenge"

It's good to hear that people enjoy this game, i did too when i was reviewing it last year. But the expansion (wild run) , it's just a heavily overpriced DLC and nothing more. The only meaningfull additions were the Bikes, and the improvements on the difficulty, and graphics.

But the difficulty and graphics updates, are available to the vanila version as well with the latest patch. So ubisoft is charging 30$ for 3 new specs the bikes, and seasonal events, yes the expansion is nothing more than seasonal events, you know like the ones that GT6 offers for the last 2 years for free.

There is no new missions, no motivation to travel again , using a motorcycle this time around. I'm reffering only to the bikes, because the 3 new classes, are simply undrivable in the free roam mode. The drift spec can't go in a straight line, the drag spec can't turn in corners, and the monster truck has the feeling of a tank.

Yes, the parts you win can only be used for free from the HQ on that particular car in that particular spec.

The parts you win only allow you to purchase them in the tuner for different cars if they're in the same spec, so you'll have to level each spec separately. So if I maxed out my dirt spec parts (which means all platinum level 50 parts), I can then buy those parts again at the tuner for any other dirt spec car, but not for street or other specs for that car.

Thanks!.

It's needlessly complicated and not translated to the player very well!!!!

The #3_0_93 issue is really frustrating, and it happens to me almost every time I log in.

Yup me too!.

Also, skill challenges, is there any way to see what level or part they are without browsing them on the map?

It's a bit of a pain trying to find one of a particular level or part.

edit : am I getting confused again?!, on the skill challenges they show what part you could win, and the level, I assume this is the level of the part?, so if you are level 20, you can equip level 20 parts, and really need to find challenges that offer level 20 parts?

edit 2: I must be completely stupid, because this game confuses the hell out of me! nearly 20 hours in, and I still really don't know what I am doing!

I think looking at the map is the only way to get info on the skill challenges.

I wish you could filter them by part or LB/RB through them. I usually use on an online list instead.

Yes. It also show a + to indicate how much better that part is than the one you have.

If you have some weak areas of your vehicle, then something less than 20 may be an upgrade too.

It's next to impossible for me to find a crew to do the summit crew time trials, is the game population not that good now?

The pop isn't massive, but that is a specific 4 player-only event. Not the easiest thing to get on a whim with a small pop. I get MP races going pretty easily.

They released a new car today, the Pagani Zonda. Which is cool, them supporting the game and such. Only thing is, it's $30.- and there is no other way to get it then spending that cash.

No wonder I've yet to see one in the wild.

Like the game though, especially when I got the complete edition for $20 a couple of weeks ago from that pricing error. Ubisoft wouldn't see a dime from me otherwise and they just reminded me why.

The Zonda is $30 DLC by itself? WTF?

That must be a pricing error.

Which begs the question, who is in charge of setting prices at Ubi? First they sell the complete edition for $20 on accident, now this

Maybe Ubi is using The Crew to guage reactions to crazy pricing and to see what the returns are like.

I'm guessing the Zonda would be the prize for this month's summit; similar to the Lotus Evora you could win from the summit last month, but can't even buy from the dealer.

This series could be great, but it's pretty clear that Ubi has been screwing it up from the start with the efforts to monetize it.

Being a recent buyer, I have not had one iota of trouble from any monetisation efforts.

I would say the expansion seems a bit overpriced at RRP,but, other than that and this Zonda nonsense (which is likely, as above, to be Summit related, I agree), the crew currency etc have not bothered me at all.

Me either, for those long time players, is it possible to avoid the monetisation completely?, or does there become a bit of a push for it during the end game?

The Zonda's availability hasn't been mentioned yet, so it's probably safe to assume it's a placeholder price to make sure nobody buys it, like games on Xbox costing 9999 Microsoft Points before release.

The entire grind aspect of this game is centered on the microtransactions. I don't mind a bit of a grind and wouldn't say I've had trouble with it either. I'll do it when watching TV or listening to music, but...

As someone who's recently grinded all platinum parts for nearly every car and motorcycle spec in the game -- I only have Drag to go -- I think it's safe to say that wasting your time is a fundamental design decision of The Crew.

I like this game a lot, but I do think this approach is standing in the way of it being great.

Which might just be a convenient way to deflect the criticism they received for initially offering it only through Crew Credits...
Pretty sure they've done it before with one of the monthly season pass cars.

I know Ubisoft is greedy but they know for a fact that they won't do well selling a single car for $30.

This sounds exactly like that.

Following the release of the new Pagani Zonda, we have decided to apply a double currency to this vehicle, allowing all The Crew and The Crew Wild Run players to purchase it in Bucks as well as in Crew Credits.

Sounds like a right back pedal.

I previously owned The Crew when it launched but traded it. When Wild Run I decided to get it when it was half price. Just wondering if there's a way of playing the bikes and monster truck without getting into the story. Is there somewhere I can go to try one or do I have to continue the story and wait to unlock them?

EDIT:
I have bought the game and I can't see if this is possible. Does anyone know?

You can skip the story and just stick to skills and challenges I guess, but some things to consider:

It may be worth playing the story a bit since you get a free Wild Run spec fairly early.

It may also be worth playing the story until you're introduced to the factions, at which point the game gives you 100k Crew Credits, which you'll probably want to spend on perks.

I read on the crew forums that all missions and skill challenges outside of the summit should give smart loot?, that's not right is it?

Is the reward for this month's summit seriously the Evora again? That's kind of disappointing; I wonder what I'll win since I already own it.

Sneaky sneaky, so it's harder to grind for platinum parts now then?
It's more of a linear curve progression now, whereas it was more logarithmic before. It's slower to get to level 40 parts, but quicker to go from 40 to 50 platinum, and much easier to flesh out your selection of parts with specific bonuses if you're focused on a certain build.

So what is the best way to go about going from 40 to 50 now then?, all the old information pointed to grinding short challenges, like jumps, but that's not as lucrative any more?

I find that getting medals in the summit skills are usually quick and easy. I found some skills around that reward with smart loot but always seems to be performance parts at least.
The rules might be different when you're below level 50, but I always get smart loot for the summit skills, even with a bronze metal.

Yeah, was doing the jump one in the current summit, and although I was getting a lot of visual parts and stickers, I was also getting some decent parts too.

Anyone got any tips for drifting?, it's pretty tricky in this game, also, anyone got any suggestions for the best cars for each of the new specs? (Drift, Drag and Monster)

Picking this up tonight. I played the base game last year for about a week and liked it. How is Wild Run?

I'd be extremely grateful if someone could please post some suggested handling settings. I have tried the Forza settings suggested by that dev in the beta, but I can't find a combination of settings that feels good. Thanks in advance.
