I remember this fondly. It was like Tomb Raider: The Game Show.

Medieval the GOAT. Mooootthhhaa!
Weird. It's what he's most famous for. Did you just think he presented Crystal Maze?
Between this and Knightmare, you Brits had all the cool game shows.
Also fort boyard but that wasn't originally british it was another european country that invented that one but i forgot which. Fort boyard is like crystal maze but even more extreme, no wimpy puzzles for all of it. Theres games where you have to bungee from the top of the fort into the courtyard where there are tigers wandering about, another game had you on a zipline from the roof out into the sea to a platform.
It's no mean feat as that thing is really high

Also instead of the crystal dome you had to get into the courtyard & grab gold as the timer counts down when it reaches zero the exit locks and the tigers are released lol i shit you not, however in all the years i watched i never saw the tigers get out. The prizes in crystal maze kind of sucked in fort boyard you got cold hard cash
Here's an episode its great fun to watch

I played the Crystal Maze somewhere in the UK I think in the late 90s? Is this not the first time it's been open to the public?
It's like Fort Boyard but minus the amazing setting ?

Old sea prison in France. Every room as been converted into a game show challenge. Candidates runs around the fort doing trials and challenges and try to get key to acess to the coin room and get money for charity. the set is real and it's very entertaining. Also, the tube challenge offer nice boobs shot so that's that
Sorry, the Crystal Maze was infinitely better than Fort Boyard. Yes Richard, I will start the fans please.
Oh, wow, it's like Legends of the Hidden Temple for adults?

Yeah, there wasn't any puzzle-solving in Legends, really. It was mostly athletic feats like climbing, running, swimming, pulling, pushing, interspersed with the quizzes which I believe gave your team favorable position for the races.Didn't Legends have some quizzy nature to it? Crystal Maze is almost pure active puzzlesolving, entry to the Future zone aside (even Mumsey was more lateral thinking rather than quizzing)
Richard O'Brien is the most under appreciated god amongst men. I grew up watching this dude in the Middle East. I mention his name to my friends here stateside and they have no clue who I'm talking about.
Ona side note, This show was great too

That's like Japan-level of game show lunacy.
I think there was a one-off special in the US based on Fort Boyard. (Pretty sure I taped it ages ago.) Guess it wasn't popular enough to get picked up.
A couple of years ago there was Fort Boyard: Ultimate Challenge, which was a joint thing with ITV in the UK and Disney in the US, with teams being half British and half American. All kids.

Will jumpsuits and hairstyling be included in the experience? If so, I will meet you in the Aztec zone.

Holy shit watched an episode and damn that was an amazing show. Looks like the US needs to step up their game on game shows.
We'd screw it up by adding 20 minutes of player bios and interviews.

Aw, the Crystal Maze!
Slightly related but does anyone remember Time Commanders? It was a similarly team based show but apparently based on two teams of co-workers playing Total War against each other. It wasn't necessarily fun because of the Total War part, but down to how after the slightest bit of pressure how passive-aggressive the team members would get with each other. It always started out as some sort of team building exercise but by the end of each episode they clearly resented each other's existence. Forced smiles all round!
The world needs more weird-ass gameshow TV.
