Is the next shoot supposed to be in downtown LA? My sister gave the heads up that there are going to be shooting there next and it's right across her office. If she sees it she will send pictures I will post it here.

This ...
and I trust Nolan when he uses CG - he seems to have good quality control. Only thing iffy was the train in Batman Begins, but that was awhile ago.
There was a scene in Inception that used CG so well that it almost looked like a real capture.

The production house that did the talk for us said they managed to trick Nolan in going with it by pretending it was real.

Which scene is this?

Yeah, they are filming on Lower Grand Ave this weekend. Huge setup with a bunch of streets around bunker hill closed off. Saw a bunch of obvious Tumblers under car covers yesterday when I left work.

The photos coming out today def. seem to be from that.

Yeah, I think it looks good too. Those goggles definitely look like cat ears, lol. Between a full mask and hair out, I guess I'd pick the latter. Dunno about those heels though.

About the Joker's look:
IMDB said:
Once she knew Heath Ledger had been cast as The Joker, costume designer Lindy Hemming based the character's attire off of an eclectic line-up of clothing styles, ranging from Vivienne Westwood to John Lydon to Iggy Pop to Pete Doherty to Alexander McQueen. Hemming's aim was to modify The Joker's familiar appearance with "a younger, trendier look", in order to represent Ledger's generation.
Makes me wonder what the process was for designing Catwoman's costume. I wonder where they took inspiration from.

It's weird how good The Joker was designed and how bad Catwoman looks. Did their designer change?

She looks similar to Julie Newmar's version of Catwoman.

She looks like she stumbled out of Comic-Con or something.

I can't wait to see an official trailer featuring Catwoman. I think that's when the character is really going to come alive in a way that can't be conveyed by all this behind the scenes stuff.

Between the Bat-copter and Catwoman, this seems to reek of Spiderman 3 quality. I hope its not, but it just has that feeling.

What a terrible Catwoman design.

bleh!
Yep.

I sort of hate Hathaway but they're not even making her look sexually... alluring or whatever.
That's like her only strength. Boo this... thing.

*bails thread*

Catwoman suit looks like some generic shit you'd buy from Party City.

I'm sure it'll look better under different lighting and post-production magic though.

I think it's really super cool costume. I like it a lot, it's like Newmars, just not as sexy.

I think it's really cool and likable.

I still fucking hate Hathaway though.

Are they filming every scene in daylight on public streets or something?
I'm pretty sure these shots are continuation of what they shot in Pittsburgh
Catwoman steals batman's bike.

FWIW, where they are shooting in LA is very easy to shoot day-for-night in. It's undergoundish. Though it didn't look like they were doing that today.

Yes most of the film takes place in bright sunlight. In fact Batman has Lucius integrate a pair of Blublockers into the Batman cowl.

Yeah, and that's a good thing. The last two attempts at a "sexy" Catwoman have looked totally ridiculous.

Heels? Really?
This is why I'm wondering about the character's personality. Because at first glance it's like there's no way that's practical. But maybe the character has some sort of mental defect we don't know about.

While i've never seen any interpretation of Catwoman without heels...

I have to admit that it doesn't fit Nolan's 'realistic' world

Fuck Nolan's "realistic" world, it's ruining Batman. Scarecrow sucked and was boring, Catwoman looks like piss, barely recognizable, Bane looks like Vin Diesel from xXx with his popped collar fur jacket.

i hope they will make Arkham Asylum style batman movies someday, i don't like how they are holding back with everything in this, i bet Nolan would have made Batman to look like some random ninja without all the bat ears and stuff if it wasn't for the fans.

Still day 1, though.

I think they are staying away from AA style batman because there is no good way to do that in live action and make it not cheesy as fuck.

Why does catwoman get all the hate? Without special effects (or the perspective of the director's camera), they both look pretty stupid.

Well the ridiculous leather outfit she is wearing which takes 3 people to help put on doesn't help either. Why didn't she get kevlar and titanium bi-weave.

Because people already had these same reactions to Batman's new suit when TDK set photos were being leaked 3 years ago. New character gets all the focus.

I have to admit I was rooting for the modern day Arkham City style Catwoman, but this is pretty much perfect if they are going to go in the Newmar direction.

catsuit: just like the modern comics
goggles: look alright, could be more stylish / less busy
ears: look better than I thought they would
gloves: really long...i like this

Kind of wish she didn't have that red lipstick though, I think a darker shade would suit her better.
