I spotted Christopher Nolan and Wally Pfister leaving the building. No cast sightings other than an extra in a Gotham police uniform.
 
I feel like this should be a meme. Make a batman movie, don't film the Batman. It's like Bale is there for a scene or two the entire movie
 
Went to the set on lunch break in Newark today. Very low key, filming is inside City Hall building. I talked to some crew members who told me only Morgan Freeman was there. I was hoping to see some Tumbler action or something but no dice. They will be there until Monday.
 
i saw them filming today!

it was right outside the building where i am interning.
the street was lined with gotham PD cars with sirens flashing, and a bunch of GPD cops were entering a subway entrance (i think it is actually a light rail entrance, but whatever) with guns. it is the same light rail entrance i walk past every day, gonna be cool seeing it in a movie.

i was going to go and take pictures when i got off work but they had finished up already.
 
Shooting at Wall St today? Just received a text from a friend...not sure if they are today or he just found out they are shooting at Wall St eventually.

Yup he just confirmed. He went to Wall St for the occupy Wall St protest and saw a block closed off with Magnus Rex notifications up.

Super busy today but I might try to just get down there to see if I can catch them doing something cool.
 
I didn't know Expendable lived in NYC. NYC film guys need to get together one day =P

Are they doing any extreme kind of filming like from skyscrapers rooftops etc. or it's just talking scenes on the floor and stuff?
 
Apparently the story in what they're shooting now is that
Bane has had control of Gotham for months, and had all of the cops locked away (underground, or something). Here, the GPD are breaking out and making a run through Bane's mercs to take back city hall.

Sounds fucking insane

Heard that as well.

I've got various concerns like the rest of folk, but I can't deny that on paper the story in Rises stands pretty fucking tall.

The scope of this entire project is just incredible.

If that shit is true, this seems like this is going to be a very interesting movie at least.
 
The more I hear the more excited I get about this.

It seems like
Bane is going to follow through on what Ra's al Ghul wanted Bruce to do in Begins, and I think bringing it full circle like that
will greatly benefit the quality of Rises.

I think at one point, Bane
betrays Ra's Al Ghul and becomes a full on force of evil rather than just a Utopian general. More like a dictator.

So does
the National Guard/US Military/whatever equivalent just sit on its ass for months while one of their cities is completely overrun by organized criminals? Or is Gotham like a lone republic in the Batman universe or something?

Makes sense.

I guess it'll mirror
Bruce getting much of his training and knowledge from Ra's and then going off on his own, but Bane will obviously be on the other end of the extreme crazy spectrum.
Sounds hot.

It can easily be that large of a force to be reckoned with if Bane turns it into like the Middle East x 10. And yeah, the instrument of liberation.

Allegedly
Modine's character is sent into Gotham from the outside, as an FBI agent or something. Maybe to help rally the Gotham police?
 
This movie is sounding bizarrely epic, at least based on what we get to see and surmise from filming. After TDK, I was expecting it to move back to being a little more intimate, but the scale is only increasingly. I'm not necessarily complaining, but it's interesting.
