To be fair, Return of the Joker and Red Hood were both quite good when they use Robin as a source of guilt and failure for Batman, although to do that we need a dead or mostly dead Robin and we just don't have time to suffer his introduction.

It's so easy to say this when Bale is simply playing Bruce. Everybody else in the film has the chance to outperform Bale because the characters themselves outperform Bruce.

The bat voice in Begins was fine. I don't think they need someone else to dub over it. It was just way over the top in The Dark Knight, which was weird because Bruce upped the yuppie act. They increased the gap between the two voices from both sides.

That's not his fault, Bruce Wayne was a boring character anyways. He's upstaged in both films (much less so in BB because of the party scene though).

But the actor himself is probably unmatched in these casts aside from Ledger and Oldman. Oh and maybe Murphy too (dude was great in that IRA movie)
